colover Posted March 29, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 29, 2015 We're booking a mid ship mini suite with balcony. Anything to consider in choosing port vs. starboard? Also, is there an advantage to paying a little more for a higher deck? The lowest price is on deck 10 and it goes up slightly with each deck you go up. Thanks. Sauer-kraut Posted March 29, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 29, 2015 Any idea which side they dock on for the E. Caribbean route? Changes by port and trip depending on which sides needs to have work done, training or lifeboat drills.
margie1221 Posted March 30, 2015 #5 Share Posted March 30, 2015 (edited) If in doubt, book the port side - we had better views in St Thomas, St Maarten, Nassau and for the fireworks from our Deck 11 port side Balcony on the Getaway in February 2015 - but things change... ship may need work as previous poster stated. And, there are other factors - number of ships in port that day, wind, current, etc. View will be fabulous from your mini-suite no matter what!!! Enjoy the docking and sail away from your private balcony at each of the ports. Sure beats going to work... dudesterjones Posted April 4, 2015 #6 Share Posted April 4, 2015 We just came back from the same cruise last week. We stayed in a midship starboard side balcony room. Perfect views in St. Martin and St. Thomas of the harbor. The ship backed into both ports. Captain Tommy rocks when it comes to parallel parking. I guess he didn't have his license to parallel park yet:D
