Question about bringing alcohol on board.

My wine was removed from my hand luggage during embarkation and returned to me the night before we returned to Miami! MSC says no wine allowed on board and while others have gotten on with their wine , mine was removed! We took about 6 bottles of water on board with no problem .

We have carried on a few bottles of wine in Venice and Genoa with no problem. Just bottles we purchased while visiting the city pre-cruise; we were prepared to turn them in for the duration of the cruise, but no one batted an eye. It seems to depend on which port you're embarking at, and who is manning the baggage scanners.

The policy is that no drinks or food are to be brought onboard. That is their rule. On the other hand there is there enforcement of the rule, or probably more accurate to say, lack of enforcement.

So you I will read of many people. Ringing bottles onboard without challenge and the occasional report of them being confiscated and held until the end of the cruise.
