Dolphins Posted May 24, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 24, 2004 There is a public part of Elbow Beach and an adjoining part directly in front of the hotel. You can take a bus to the public access to Elbow Beach.

awatt Posted June 10, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted June 10, 2004 Do they have restrooms, chairs, umbrellas there? And how does it compare to the other beaches i.e. Horseshoe,Tobacco?
blueberry Posted June 12, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 12, 2004 There is a public beach right next door to the beach in front of the hotel. There are vendors renting chairs, umbrellas etc- no charge to get onto beach itself. There are no restrooms or changing facilities on the public beach nor food stands. You can use the reataurants/snack bars at the Elbow Beach Hotel- paying of course - they are very nice- and then you can of course use the restrooms. Actually the snack bar right on the beach was destroyed last year in the hurricane and I'm not sure if its yet rebuilt- but the restaurant at the pool it quite lovely. The beach itself it quite large, relativley uncrowd but no snorkeling really.
MICHAELHUNTER Posted June 12, 2004 #6 Share Posted June 12, 2004 I WENT TO ELBOW BEACH LAST WEEK, THERE WAS LOTS OF JELLY FISH. GO TO HORSESHOE BAY ITS GORGEOUS!!
Cappy1012 Posted June 13, 2004 #7 Share Posted June 13, 2004 Many locals said to go to Horseshoe Bay because Elbow beach was still a mess from the hurricane. Also we were taking Taxi's and there is no taxi stand at Elbow beach.
FranD Posted June 26, 2004 #8 Share Posted June 26, 2004 FYI - ALL beaches in Bermuda are public, some of the hotels would like you to think they claim privacy but legally not so!! Cheers!
Ocean Boy Posted June 27, 2004 #9 Share Posted June 27, 2004 Fran is correct. All of Bermuda's beaches are public and there is no charge to get on them nor can access to them be restricted. They do not all have public facilities and the hotels can charge you to use theirs. I do not remember Elbow having public facilities though the hotel's are very nice. Horseshoe Bay does have public facilities and it is a beautiful beach. But then there really isn't any part of Bermuda that isn't beautiful.
