Ok, have been looking up car rentals

I also looked up the address on MSN map..and can you confirm that if I rent from either place is it at the both airport or near by?

Well that's somewhat old info... At Fort Lauderdale the rental car pick-up and return for Alamo and the other majors are both at the new Car Rental Center, which is a large parking garage in the middle of the airport terminals. That address is for their old off airport site, but it's not open to the public any longer, they just use it for storage.

 

At MIA the lots are still scattered around the area, and yes, that address is near the airport.
