Santa Domingo ship tour

Has anyone done this tour in the Dominican republic? If so was it worth it? It sounds like a long day but photos look lovely, however I've heard that beggers approach people here, and some people did not feel safe in this port. Any feedback on this tour or other tours in Dominican Republic would be apresheated!
