:D Ok I know there is a lot said about fort lauderdale hotels but I would like to know if there are any that offer airport/port shuttles and are on the water taxi route? We are a group of 10 and coming from all parts of the country and at all times. Those coming early want to spend time at the beach and those that are coming late don't care. It would save lots of money if there were shuttles to go from airport to hotel and then to port. (I don't ask for much LOL:o ) Thanks

Well if you stay at one of the SE 17th Street hotels it's only roughly a $10 cab ride from the airport and less than that into Port Everglades. Many hotels are either eliminating their shuttles, or charging for them now. None of the hotels directly on the Water Taxi route have both airport and port shuttles.

Thanks Trent, is $10.00 a cab ride for 1 person or for the whole cab? Do you know how much the cab fare is for the beach district from FLL?

My husband and I are flying into MIA and need to get a ride to Fort Lauderdale (where we will be spending the night) we don't fly in till 10:00 pm, do you have any suggestions as to what is the best and cheapest way for 3 people?

Thanks again.

Cab fares are for the entire cab, whether it's 1 person or 4 people... The cab fares for the beach would depend on which hotel, meaning how far up the beach. On the way from FLL to the beach you go past the SE 17th Street hotels first, so they're the least expensive cab ride. It's about $15 or so for hotels on the south end of Fort Lauderdale Beach, $20-25 on the northern end.

The cheapest way to get from Miami to Fort Lauderdale is usually to just rent a car.

Other options are Tri-County Transportation's limo service... http://www.floridalimo.com/

Larry's Limo... http://www.larryslimo.com/

Or SuperShuttle's shared vans... http://www.supershuttle.com/htm/cities/mia.htm

The SE 17th Street hotels are in Priceline's "downtown" Fort Lauderdale zone. For more Priceline info read the following websites...

Trent you are a treasure of info I really appreciate it. There is another web site by Burbunny www.biddingforfun.com that is good also. I think that with the budget I have I may be bidding for a room if I don't find anything that everyone (I have 4 groups) agrees on. Thank you sooooo much for the info for taxis. I don't knoe if it would be better to rent a vehicle to get from MIA to FL we arrive at 10:30 pm and if we have a vehicle we will be "taxi" for 10 people. The shuttle may be easier than renting (10:30pm, running everyone to port, returning vehicle.getting transportation to port)
