Trent, I need your help

Thank you for your help in my previous post. I've decided that it would be best to stay off South beach as we have families with kids travelling in our group. I would still like to be on the beach (miami beach) with close access to south beach for touring purposes. I just think it would be best to stay away from the party nightlife with the parents travelling with us. I would also like to be within walking distance to the bayside marketplace. I am also looking for a hotel with a beauty salon in it or close by as my wedding is on the cruise on the day of departure and I need a place for us to get our hair done. Not sure if you will be familiar with this but thought I would ask.

Thanks for your help!

Well South Beach is someplace that really has something for everyone. There are many many families who stay there, it's not like Mardi Gras or something like that. There are many nice shops, sidewalk cafes, etc. The clubs don't even open until after most kids have gone to bed.

Um, you say you would still like to be on the beach, and then you say you want to be within walking distance to Bayside Marketplace - That's not possible - Bayside Marketplace is in downtown Miami, a 10 minute drive from South Beach, considerably longer if you want to be on the beach, yet not in South Beach.

I have no idea which hotels have beauty salons in or close to them, sorry.

Bayside Marketplace is within safe walking distance of the Intercontinental... http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/ic/1/en/hd/miaha?irs=null

It's also just across from a Holiday Inn that many on here like, but I'm not one of them, and I would think you'd want a nicer place for something as special as a wedding trip, but it's this place... http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/hi/1/en/hd/miabb

I'll list the other nice downtown Miami hotels. They're all less than a 5 minute cab ride to Bayside Marketplace. For personal safety reasons I wouldn't recommend attempting to walk.

JW Marriott (my personal favorite, wonderful hotel)... http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/miajw

Hyatt Regency... http://miamiregency.hyatt.com/property/index.jhtml

Biscayne Bay Marriott... http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/miabb

If you want even nicer hotels, these are the best of the best...

Conrad International... http://conradhotels.hilton.com/en/ch/hotels/index.jhtml?ctyhocn=MIACICI

Four Seasons... http://www.fourseasons.com/miami/index.html

Mandarin Oriental... http://www.mandarinoriental.com/hotel/526000001.asp

If you want to be on the beach, yet away from South Beach it's best to have rental cars as there's not as much to walk to from most of them, and it's a far longer/more expensive cab ride from the airport and to the port, as well as to/from restaurants, etc.
