CAS comps- Upgrades if price drops?

If you have booked a comped balcony cabin through CAS, is there a chance at an upgrade for a good price if costs for that week go down? If so, how do you know what 'value' your comped week?

We have re-booked before to get the current promo, but I'm wondering if there are more reasons to keep checking. Has anybody done this before to get an upgraded cabin?

To find out the $$ value of the cabin you have been comped and the one you are considering to move to, do fake bookings on both, and CAS will charge you the cost difference between the two to upgrade. If all cabin prices on your cruise drop for example by $200, the value of your cabin will also drop, so the upgrade price difference will remain the same.

I've never tried the fake bookings so I'll look at that. We have always booked the certificates by calling CAS and I didn't want to bother them with a maybe. So far we have been very happy with balconies, but you never know about something else until you give it a try. Thanks!

I'm not sure the CAS math is as described. If you're interested in paying for an upgrade just call CAS and get a price quote. Either the price works for you or it doesn't.

I'm paying for an upgrade and I've called several times to price check my price and the price for another step up, the numbers have been consistent even though we know retail prices have moved.

CAS is Casinos At Sea, NCL's rewards program for casino guests.

Use of a TA is combination of person preferences for the services offered and sometimes extra goodies like Onboard Credit (OBC).

One advantage of booking with NCL is that you can manage your reservation online. My reservation is with CAS which is considered a travel agent. So I have to call to make payments. If my reservation was directly with NCL I could make payments online. My CAS offer is complimentary, so my pricing is lower and the best deal for me.

Thank you. How do the ta make their money. Is it normally cheaper to use them then ncl?

Personally I don't use TAs, I was just provided a promotion and it tied me to CAS. I use one for work because it is company policy. Probably best to do some online research on how TAs get paid if that is a big interest for you.
