scuba diving in Nassau

We will be in Nassau on the MOS in early Nov. Has anyone any experience getting a dive boat at the pier, how about walking or a taxi to a dive shop for a beach entry? Or should we just book the scuba dive thru the ship? Any info from experienced divers would really be helpfull since we are newly certified. Thanks for any help

I did not see any dive ops / tours at the pier or custom's building. There are dive ops what you can check out on the web. I used Stuart Cove when I was on the Sovereign in 2003.
