Interesting snippet regarding Louis

Strange one, all indications were that the Cuba cruises were very popular. Does this mean that Louis are starting to expand again after going through a bumpy time and disposing of a lot of old hardware? Does it have any significance in terms of them thinking to the future with leases running out on Spirit/Majesty?

Not as strange as one might expect.

Think back to when Louis became involved in the UK cruise industry, which was through Sun Cruises /Airtours.

They had leased the SeaWing to Sun Cruises, and when money issues surfaced, the payoff was that Airtours had to give the ownership of the SeaWing to Loius.

They were chartering the ship to Airtours, and also the Emerald to Thomson.

In other words, they were suppling ships to two competing companies for the same target market.

Reading through the lines here, it would appear that the same has happened with this Cuba Cruises operation.

Interesting news, thank you for posting this.
