Atlantis for free...is it possible?

Very interested in heading over to Atlantis when we are there for a day on our next cruise. Have seen mention of passes and know of the excursions but wondering if there is a way to experience Atlantis for free? Are the grounds set up as such that you can wander around and take pics of the grounds?

Not while Aquaventure is open. You can visit the lobbies of the Coral Tower and Beach Tower (which aren't super impressive) and the casino. To go any further into the complex, including the Royal Towers lobby, you need to buy some kind of pass or be a guest of the hotel or a guest of the Comfort Suites next door.

At night after Aquaventure closes, they open it up a bit so folks who aren't staying there can go to the restaurants for dinner, though I'm not sure what's open at that point, and it would be dark. If your cruise ship stays late enough, you could try going at night and see what you can get to.

Just to add - the parts of Atlantis that you will be allowed access to were built in the early 70's. They are not the buildings that you see in advertising. They are 40 years old and look it.

Royals Towers, Reef and Cove are off limits except for the casino in the Royal Towers. Outdoors, with the exception of the adjacent Marina Village are highly secured and off limits as well.

At night, the outdoors is shut down, and dimly lit.

Y0u might be able to access the beach from the public access next to the hotel that's next to Atlantis. We had a taxi take us the beach access and walked down the beach and onto the Atlantis property. We walked around the pool area and the property but did not try to use any of the facilities. That was three years ago. It might be worth a try.

That would be trespassing.

Not to be rude to the Sneaky Clients, but it's those that break the rules that ruin it for everyone else. I last visited Atlantis in August and was able to walk from the Coral Towers to the Royal Towers, but no further than the main lobby without being stopped and security checking for a wristband. I highly recommend getting a Beach Pass, or the Aquaventure Pass to enjoy the resort. I think Atlantis is beautiful and you get access to see a lot of Marine Life, art work, and a lot more. It's like a Caribbean Magic Kingdom. It's worth the price, check bahamasdaypass dot com if you don't want to pay the cruise lines price.

Because I don't want to do Aquaventure? Pretty good reason right? We have small kids with us that won't be able to do many of the rides and who will be disappointed. We have two older folks who won't use the waterpark either. We want to spend some time on the public beach and then go inside Atlantis to 1) play a few $ in the casino 2) just see the lobby and public areas 3) possible have lunch in Carmines and 4) possibly do the Dig if the little ones want to.

So, again, what will happen if we play on the beach and then walk into Atlantis, telling the guard we want to eat lunch, play in the casino and possibly buy Dig passes? They are going to turn us away?

As of Oct 8th, the entry point for Cabbage Beach, next to the RIU is closed. The only legal entry point is about 1 mile east of the RIU, next to PIBC. This makes it a LONG walk along the beach to get to Atlantis.

This is also the EXIT point, so in order to leave the public beach, and get to the Atlantis lobby to go to the casino or buy tickets, you would have to exit at the new point (a mile from Atlantis beach to the east), and walk or get a cab to the coral towers lobby. The walk from the beach exit to Atlantis is now about 15 minutes, not the 3-5 minutes it used to be. There are also NO public restrooms on Cabbage Beach, and no hotels you can sneak into anymore. The government is trying to renegotiate with the property owners, but construction on the beach next to the RIU is due to start soon.

As you might guess, neither Atlantis nor the owners of that section of the beach want to make it easy, since it's not profitable to them.

Again, no one is sneaking anywhere. We are doing a vow renewal on public beach at Paradise Beach Club. As part of the minister/planners' services, we are permitted to use the restrooms and changing rooms at that property. When we are done there, our intent is to stroll along the beach and wind up at Atlantis to play in the casino/ buy digs tickets.

I still am not understanding the logistics of how to do this. Where is the access point from beach into Atlantis property? I don't know what PIBC is. Our other option is just to cab from Paradise beach club to Atalantis to do casino/digs. If I do it that way, where do I want the cab to drop me? Royal Tower lobby?

Final question, is your above info based on actual experience?

Thanks

Yes, that's where we'll be. I am not asking where I can access the beach. I am asking how I access Atlantis The Dig and casino FROM the beach. Are you saying I cannot or are you saying I can? I am really very confused.
