Coral Princess cabin questions

We are booked on the Coral Princess Alaska southbound cruise next week in A333, which is a category BC balcony room, starboard side.

Can anyone tell me whether it would be worthwhile trying to upgrade to a B2 premium balcony guarantee (I'm guessing a $100 total increase)? Are those rooms much better? Is there significant downside risk?

I was also looking at the balcony mini-suites, category MB, which would probably be a $600 total increase. It looks like D519, D601, and D604 are available, and the last of those is a port side, which I was thinking might be advantageous for this cruise.

Thanks!

If you are like us, once you stay in a mini-suite, you won't want a balcony room ever again.

My first and only previous cruise, the prices plummeted in the last days before the sailing, and my TA got us a free upgrade from a balcony to a family suite (Norwegian Dawn). It was amazing and spoiled me for sure. But, I also like to take a lot of vacations and a full suite would probably usually cost double what I paid that time, so I have to be realistic ... not that there are any of those left for this sailing anyway.

I've never seen a mini-suite in person, but from the floor plan it looks like it is similar to the balcony room but deeper from the front door to the balcony door. Maybe I have been selling it short. I will do some searching to learn more about the difference between balcony and mini-suite.

Thanks!

In the extra space between the bed and the balcony door there is a sofa.

The bathroom has a bathtub shower combo.

Hmm, sounds nice... maybe not $600 nice, but nice.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the B2 premium balcony guarantee? I am wondering if there are any in that group that would be less nice than my A333 (BC).

Thanks!
