Blue Lagoon Posted May 16, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 16, 2015 Curious to know what other new and recent perks have been offered to guests in suite cabins besides a separate restaurant? Over the last while, has there been ship tours (behind the scene tours), on the bridge sailaways, heli-pad visits, dining with officers? I know there is information on the Celebrity site (Michael's Club with concierge, butler, etc.) but wondering what else Celebrity has included recently that might not be advertised but specific to a ship/itinerary or a captain's preference. Thanks.
hughdm Posted May 16, 2015 #2 Share Posted May 16, 2015 First time we had a Royal Suite on Summit, we got invited to the officer's table the second formal night. Not the captain, but a couple of other high ranking officers. It was fun. The second time we did a RS on Summit, we got to do a bridge tour, a backstage tour, and a galley tour. This was 1 1/2 and 2 years ago before the new suite perks.

Rare chemmo Posted May 16, 2015 #4 Share Posted May 16, 2015 The biggest change for us has been Michael's Club and the conceirge. We let them know what we would like to do (polite request not a demand) and they have always tried to make our cruise even more special. If you request the standard (example bridge tour) they will say 'I will sort it for you' if you ask for something a little different they will say 'I will come back to you'. Health and safety and the logistics of running a ship come into play but as long as you do not request the ridiculous they will try to accommodate you. We have seen lots of bridges but on a recent cruise got to see the engine control room and to meet and talk with one of the engineers about some of the logistics of running the ship. May sound boring to you but it was what we had requested to do. Different people want different things. Until recently the ship specific perks seemed more regimented (bridge tour, cocktail party, sail away...) now I think in addition there really is a philosophy of wanting all guests to leave the ship with that wow feeling. Our first cruise with Celebrity was in a CS before any of the suite perks came in. We had previously cruised suites on RCCL and found the lack of suite conceirge and lounge bizarre. Now we are committed Celebrity Suite Life cruisers with the next one booked.
Gracie115 Posted May 16, 2015 #5 Share Posted May 16, 2015 (edited) We were in a CS on Eclipse for the TA just finished last week. Had invite to the helipad twice. Michael's Club is wonderful perk and we enjoyed it very much. They now offer a "Celebrity Access Tour" which we took, but it is open to everyone who is willing to pay the price. It included the bridge, engine room, backstage, many of the crew areas, food & beverage store rooms, amongst others and ended with a wine pairing lunch in Murano. It was over 4 hours long but well worth the $$ to do once. Edited May 16, 2015 by Gracie115
