I know CC members loves reviews with pics. Well, I must admit that ours are still in the camera and I have to figure out how get them posted here. If you do not mind just reading for now I will make an effort to get some up when time permits.

Hi. I became a cruise lover in the tender year of September, 2013 I now have 4 cruises under my belt of which one was a very long time ago so I thought I would include that in my number of sailings.

I cruised with my husband who was a cruise virgin and now he has been found!! When we returned he chatted up about when we would take our next cruise. When we returned home, he wanted me to book another cruise for jut the two of us. I already have one booked with two of my BFF's for next year so now I must add an additional sailing to the same year satisfy the man :D

Pre-Cruise

We had a 8:12 flight out of Washington/Dulles International Airport with an arrival time of 12:12 in to San Juan, Puerto Rico. Since my husband is a past "hurry up and wait" kind of guy we were parked in economy parking before 4:00 AM and through security, on to the tram then at our gate by 4:25 AM. Before we knew it was wheels up. The flight was ok until this poor cranky baby starting up within 15 minutes of the flight and continued to cry through the entire flight. I had a brief conversation with the mother who was trying to calm baby by walking her up and down the isle. She said it was her first time on a plane and the noise and altitude probably disturbed her. I told her that I get the same way and there is no need to apologize for an uncomfortable baby and it made no difference to me and hubby. We both did not see or feel take off due to a lack of sleep the night before. Who sleeps well the night before going on cruise?

We stayed at the Embassy Suites in San Juan which was not far from the airport at all. The hotel was fine and the Managers reception, hot breakfast in the morning and pool area was really nice. The beach is located a few blocks away and heard it was beautiful. Outback is located directly in the hotel and opted to just plop down there and had few appetizers for lunch. There is a Walgreens within walking to purchase last minute items and to grab the allowed 2 bottles of wine. About one block and half there is a Mini Mart for snacks and smaller bottles of wine and spirits. Check out time was 11:00 and we headed out and caught cab to the port which was less that 15 minutes. In the distance there she was!! That ole' red, white and blues logo tail!!! I felt like a kid about go Trick or Treating on Halloween anticipating all of the treats that will be coming my way in a matter of minutes!!

Time to get on the ship

We have finally arrived!! The porters quickly took our luggage and we made our way to check in. The line was wrapped around two and a half times around those long ropes. The wait time was about twenty to the front. After getting out S & S cards we proceeded to the security line which was not to bad also. Finally the last "DING" and we were on the ship!! Ooooo La La!!! I wanted to break out and sing the Happy Song.

Our cabin

We were in a balcony cabin number 6316 port side which was one floor above the atrium. I found this location to be pretty good. There some nights when I could hear the activities in the Atrium, but, only when we exited our cabin. The cabin had plenty of space for two and my husband got our moneys worth by falling asleep at night on the balcony.

I was celebrating my Birthday. When wearrived there was a decal on the door that said "Happy Birthday". I got all excited and when I entered the cabin I was wowed! My BFF had our cabin decorated along with a really good cake for me :)

Time to explore the ship

Our bags arrived within 15 minutes after entering our cabin. Yuppie!! I quickly unpacked and told my sleepy husband that I was going to explore the ship and stop by the Spa for a raffle. I went to all of the decks where cruisers would be hanging out. My last stop was the Spa. I made there just in time to enter the raffle. Well, I must have been my lucky day because I actually won a Fun Times coupon book!! Before stepping up to accepting your prize everyone had to dance. That was not problem for me because I like to shake a tail feather.

On my way back I decided stop and see where I could smoke. Yes, I'm a smoker and did not have a problem not being able to smoke on my balcony:) Deck 5 right outside of Guest Services and Deck 10, no big deal to me.

We had anytime dinning in the Gold Olympian Dining Room. The American table menu was good for us. I explained to hubby that Carnival changed their menu since my last sailing and how some people said they did not like it. I swear he was not listening to me when I made this comment and simply said, oh well. That was our entire conversation during dinner. Once we placed our order and the food arrived from the starter to dessert, I became unnoticed. Hubby ate all of his food like a good little boy and said please and thank you :) Hubby opted for two shrimp cocktails, I had one and a caesar salad which was not good because there was way too much anchovy. We both had the steak with all of the trimmings and told hubby had the chocolate molten cake. Finally I broke his hypnotic food experience and asked him how he like his first meal. He said it was said "it was OK". Now let me explain my husband. He says everything is "ok" when he likes something. He never says something is "good" unless he makes it himself. Hummmmmm.....

We returned to our cabin, stepped out on the balcony so that hubby could see, well, nothing but darkness in the ocean. I decided that to head to the Casino to press my luck. Hubby said he will tag along won't stay long because he wanted to hang out on the balcony.

The Czsar's Palace Casino was located on deck 5 midship. Did I mention we were on deck 6? It was easy for me to make quick donations to the Carnival cause every night :D I won, I lost, I won and I lost.

I guess I was sitting at the same machine for so long that I was approached by one of the floor supervisors. We chatted for a few minutes and told him I was cruising to celebrate my birthday. He gave me two free drinks on the house and said Happy B'day and I hope you win big! How about them apples!!! I said to myself, this must be one of my lucky days :) After those 3 drinks I was done but walked out with a smile on my face. I was up by $20 of my low rolling bank and decided to call it a night. Tomorrow morning we will be in St. Thomas!

We woke up by the peak of sun that escaped the black out curtain to a beautiful but hot and humid day in St. Thomas. The view from our balcony was beautiful in my opinion.

This morning, we decided to partake breakfast in the dining room since we had time to spare due to our excursion being scheduled to meet us right outside of the security gate at 11:30. Breakfast started out on a hot note! As our server was placing the personal sized tea pot on the table, some of the hot water dripped on to my thigh! I held my breath and pressed down on thigh to keep from screaming. After a few seconds the pain subsided. The server was very apologetic. I must say that this was not her fault. There is no way she would have known that the pot was defective until it was being served. BTW, this is one of a few things that happened to me that I did not let take away my joy:D (this will be included by the days)

Breakfast was enjoyed by us both and off the ship we went to do some tourist shopping in port before meeting up with our tour guide/company. Since I won the Fun Times book we hit all of the stores to pick up our Freebies and also made some purchases. There was a stand set up by Cruzan Rum to taste all of the flavored rums by their brand. It was 5:00 somewhere and I did eat breakfast, so a-tasting I went. There was not one flavor that I did not enjoy. Time was ticking and since my husband is a "hurry up and wait" kind of guy were walked back and sat in the shade for a just a few minutes. There he was, Sunny Liston himself to pick us up.

The Tour

This tour was Sight Seeing and Beach Break . The cost was a total of $60 for us two. I was able to catch a deal on their site for $5.00 off a tour and made a $10 deposit on their site and paid the balance at the end of tour.

We hiked on to the open air bus and Sunny stopped to pick up a group from the shopping area. This tour was loud and fun in my opinion. The people on this tour were lively and ready to have fun. We went to the mountain top which was 1547 feet above sea level for a beautiful view. Various stops were made along the way but ummm, the only part that was true was the that the world famous banana daiquiris were not free. I did not bother to purchase due to still having some of that FREE rum in my system :D I heard there we not as good as advertised. Quite a few stops were made and we got a nice view of the famous Megan's Beach located between the Pitons. Sunny played island music and there was one song that stayed in my head "Follow the Leader". We all did what he said as he whipped us through the mountains. If you have problems with heights and lots of motion this may not be the tour for you. Trust me, you had to hold on the rails in back of seats to avoid sliding at some points. I simply said Weeeeeeeeeeee!! The final stop was the Beach! You have choice of beaches Cokie, Sapphire or Megan's. We opted for Megan's. There is a $4 entry fee the other two are free. The beach is beautiful although there were quite a few trees and the leaves found their way on to the sand. This did not bother me at all. The water was beautiful and was located between the Pitons and not far from former President Bill Clinton's vacation home. Hubby needed something to hold him until we got back on the ship and went and purchased a Hot Dog and Fries. I do not recall how much it cost. When a diabetic say they need to eat you feed them.

We kept up with the time as was 15 minutes early for our pick up time of 3:15. After we loaded up it was about a 15-20 minute back to the port and were back on the ship almost an hour before "were gonna leave you if you ain't back by 4:30". It was nice being dropped off at the security gate which was a nice short walk. We headed back to cabin and I ordered room service. I had a veggie bowl and hubby had a tomato juice to hold us over for dinner. We laid down for about an hour and headed to the dining room a little before 6:00. Today we had BBQ spare ribs and they were delicious. Dessert was bitter blanc for me and ice cream for hubby. Once again we enjoyed dinner and checked the schedule for a show. We headed to Pixels to look our pictures and purchased two. Hubby headed to a comedy show and said it was not that good so he returned to the cabin for yet another not so much of view in the dark on the balcony. I went to the Casino and made my nightly deposit and was back in the cabin by 10:00 and knocked out soon after. It was a long hot, sunny, humid, tourist kind of day in beautiful St. Thomas.

Since we went to bed early by cruise standards we were up before 7:00 AM. The plan for the day is to spend some hours at the Boatyard.

We headed to the Lido for breakfast. There we had made to order omelets, bacon (which was served to you) potatoes, fruit and juice. With our bottles in tow, we loaded up on ice in one bottle and filled the other with water to take with us to the beach. After we got off the ship a little after 8:15 and walked down the pier, through the shopping area where we hopped in a taxi for $5 per person for short ride to the Boatyard. The entry fee is $15 per person and includes beach chair, umbrella, one of their signature drinks and the taxi ride back to pier. Since we were there bright and early we had a choice of where to plant ourselves. We opted for the beach beds near the bar which was slightly situated under a tree for shade. I put on my sunblock and headed into the water. Beautiful!! The sand felt so good below my feet walking on the beach and in the ocean. Music was playing, people were swinging from the ropes and jumping into the ocean. I puddled around and made friends with people who were on the same ship. It was so hard get out of the water, but I was thirsty and the bar was open! I went to get my first drink and it was delicious. About an hour after my first drink, the sounded the horn to come to the bar for free shots!! With my camera in tow I took pictures and when it was my turn I closed my eyes and said yummie what a great combination for a shot! I wound up getting 3 of those babies. We were dancing around the bar after that. Now hubby does not drink at all, so I wound up having 2 drinks :D The heat was kicking my tail so we decided to head back to the ship around 1:15.

Once back on the ship we headed to the Lido and chowed down on Guys Burgers which were really good. We were so tired we took a nap for a few hours and headed to dining room a little after 6:00 for yet another nice dinner.

Hubby we went to the fun shops and did some window shopping, I head to yes, the casino and actually came back to the cabin with some winnings. Hubby well..I found him knocked out on the balcony.

I skipped Sea Day which was after St. Thomas. So the posts are out of order for now but I will continue after this one with next port which is St. Lucia to get the order back. Sorry for any confusion

Ahhhhhhhhhhh, a day to sail the ocean and sit back and relax! Wrong!! We had a day pretty full of activities. We were a part of a Meet and Greet group that we joined outside of CC. That morning were suppose to meet up for the Dr. Seuss breakfast but declined to go because hubby did not want to go. Although we are both kids at heart, he preferred the Sea Day Break menu. We headed to the dining room around 8:30 and had, steak and eggs with all of the fixings. After being stuffed walked around the ship and headed to the casino for a slot pull. In the end we wound up making an additional $1 from our initial $15 per person pull. The slot pull was fun and full of excitement and it was so nice to meet the people that I chatted with for months through another source.

Lunch time came around and we opted for Blue Iguanas and just had tacos and fruit. After that we met with our group in the Victoria AFT Lounge for the meet and greet which full of great drinks, raffles and shout outs to some of the members. The cruise director Felipe Couto gave us the honor of his presence and given an award for the best cruise director from the group. Felipe is very entertaining and soo funny.

A nice couple who won a bottle of champagne during the raffle, stopped me and asked if I wanted their bottle. I happily accepted and thanked them. I wish I remembered their names. After I headed back to the cabin for yet another nap. Tonight was Elegant Night. Lobster tails and shrimp oh my. When we arrived at the dining room there was a bit of a wait. Not too long after giving our name and cabin number were escorted to our table for two. We both had the Lobster and ordered two for each of us. Instead of potatoes the shrimp was laid on a bed of risotto. Yummie!! I had a fruit plate for dessert and hubby had pie and ice cream.

The spa had a decent offer that day. So I used some of that great OBC and made an appointment. I had back, foot, ankle massage and a facial. Let me tell you. When she was massaging these feet I was in heaven!!! All of the kinks were gone and I did not go to the casino! I got in bed and watched TV and drifted off into a nice sleep.

What time did you get to the ship and board?

I hope I'm remembering correct. We got on the ship around We were on the ship between 12:30-12:45. I do recall that our boarding passes showed to arrive around 2:45 P.M. We ignored that and went our own pack while were in control :)

Once again please forgive me for my scrambled review. We actually went to the steakhouse on second night. I'm getting my days and ports confused. Apologies.

To further celebrate my Birthday we ate at the Steak House on the second night for dinner. The restaurant was not crowed and it was a nice setting. The chef sent us a tasting. Hubby had a ceviche lobster tasting which he frowned at so I ate his. It was good to me. I had a tomato parmesan soup and it was delicious. We both had shrimp cocktail served in champagne glass and a crab cake for starters. Filet Mignon and Lobster tail for our main dish, baked potato with all of the fixings, and cream spinach. Dessert was cheesecake for me (it was just ok I can make it better :) ) hubby had the chocolate trio which he said was good. A great evening for sitting on the balcony to relax with glass of red wine that I purchased at the port duty free shop.

Yuppie I was so ready to get out in the hot sun for the day for our tour in St. Lucia!

Our meeting time was 8:15 and were up bright and early and went to the Lido for breakfast and headed off the ship. BTW, getting off and on was no hassle at all. We made on time to meet up with our tour group and boarded an air conditioned van. This tour cost $75 per person and included an island tour, food, rum punch, beer, soda and bottled water. I made a reservation on line directly with Cosol Tours. The fee was collected at the end of the tour. Google them and read the reviews.

We drove through the capital of St. Lucia and saw a monument for those that have gave their lives for St. Lucia, beautiful views from the Castries, views of Marigo Bay where Dr. Doo Little was filmed, a stop at a banana plantation where the history of bananas were told while we enjoyed a sample of the bananas, some other red fruit that I do not recall the name off and ginger coconut. Next we got a view of the fishing village and stopped for nice spread of island food from fish cakes to mangos. Most things were tasty. After we went to Soufriere where we you can stand under a water fall. At the same location was the Surlphur mud bath. The volcano is also located here and the smell was like sulifer . We did not do this due to the temperature of bath being so high because of the time of day we arrived.

Beach time has finally arrived. We were escorted down one beach to board a speed boat to take us the beach now known as Sugar Beach. Here is where you can snorkel and they have equipment for rent. The ride was fun to me as we hit the waves and the cool ocean water hit me in the back. Once on the beach we were told where we were "allowed" to plant ourselves. The beach was beautiful the water was clear but we only had one hour there. That was enough for me to enjoy. One part of the beach was for snorkeling only and they only had a limited amount of beach chairs which did not look too good anyway. Hubby laid out a towel and took a nap while I once again puddled in the water and got out in enough time to head back across the sea. Back at the tour van our group was giving more drinks. I had rum punch, which was good and a sample of their rum infused with different roots.

It was all aboard by 4:30 and we arrived back to the ship by 3:30. This tour was fun but exhausting. A warm shower perked me back up and we decided to have dinner a little before six since were both soooooooo hungry.

After dinner we did not find many activities that we wanted to attend. We wound up in the Atrium listing to music and watching this cute elderly couple cut a rug. The lady at the microphone was really good. Soon after others joined them to dance. It was a nice calm evening after a day full of events. I stopped to take a gander at Fun Times and saw there was a Michael Jason Hour in the Victoria Lounge. We headed there and wow, not one available seat and the show only started 10 before we arrived. Heading in the dark theater we found a nice place to stand to watch this lady belt out some MJ hits or least until...Boom, splash, pain, cold feeling running down my leg. The beverage lady bumped into me and spilled her entire tray of drinks down back of my capris and into my shoes. She apologized and continued on her merry way. I followed her to the bar and told she ruined my new pants and my shoes. Apologized again. I said can I please get a towel. She brings me two thin beverage napkins  I said no please bring me a towel. She took my shoe that I had in my hand trying to dry it out and brings it back to me clean. Next she hands me a Margarita I taste it and it was strong! :D I return to where I standing and someone almost hit the floor. She did not clean up the previous spill well. I went back and told her that someone needs to get that fluid off the floor before one of these I gotta wear my high heels shoes ladies slip and fall and will have a ship named after them if that mess it not cleaned up properly. I washed down my wowes with my Margarita  and went back to my cabin to change my pants!

Megans Bay is in St Thomas. The Pitons are in St Lucia. Think maybe you got the two confused. :)

I did mention that Megan's is in St Thomas and yes the beach is between the pitons. St. Lucia most definitely :) OH the beauty of all. I see that your a seasoned cruiser please forgive me and I appreciate your input :D

As you will see in further posts, I did get some of my days confused. LOL!!

This is the port that was discussed on CC due to the possibility of a port change. I was happy the change did not happen because I wanted my itinerary to remain the same. When planning for all of the different ports I have a vision in mind.

This one of those morning that we did not have to get off the ship as soon as it docked :) The view from our balcony was nice. It looked to be partially sunny day which was fine. Not too much sun beating down on us. I made a reservation with Beulah St. Kitts and Nevas Lunch time tour which was $10 per person and a $2 entry fee for the Garden tour. As per our reservation our meet up time was at 11:30. We had to walk through the port and meet her at the Rum Barrel. She was easy to find. After boarding yet another open air tour bus we waited about 15 minutes for a small group that never showed up. First stop was a little shop that sold beer, soda and water for $1. I'm not much of soda drinker and wanted to try the Coconut Soda, it was good but very sweet. We proceeded into town to view their most popular buildings which included their collages, schools, and the famous clock. Next she took us to not so nice area to see how the poor lived. We stopped at a hill top which is called Timothy Hill (hope I'm correct) to view Atlantic and Caribbean ocean. From there Nevas was behind the mountain. Although it was not a clear day you can still see it among the clouds. There were vendors as usual and I purchased a coconut for $2 and drank the water and it was really refreshing. After I finished the lady hacked in to the coconut and eat the flesh. Nothing like the coconuts we see in our stores, the flesh was soft and sweet. We went to a garden located at a millionaire's home and the proceeds from the entry fee went to the children of St. Kitts. The visit to the garden was nice with exotic trees and plants. Beulah told us the history of some of the land and the smells coming from the herb garden was nice. This tour last about two hours.

After being returned to the port, hubby and I went shopping and headed back to the ship a little before three. We headed to the Lido and decided on the Wok. The food was just OK to me. I wound up picking at it and headed to Guys for another burger and only ate half of that keeping dinner in mind.

The final port :(. By the time St. Maarten came up were we exhausted. This is the morning we actually slept in a little, well until 8:30 :D

We got off the ship after eating breakfast and cruised around the port and did not do any excursions. We wanted to go to the famous Maho Beach to watch the plains fly in or take taxi tour of both sides of island and could not find the energy to do so. After shop hopping and takings a few pics we went back on the ship and rested on the Balcony. While sitting out there, I fell asleep and was awakened by the sun burning my arms. I would up with a heat rash. After repositioning my chair to be more in the shade I saw this man running down the pier with his son in tow and this other lady not far behind him. As she approached she shouted out that it was not their fault and the rest faded as she boarded at exactly 4:35 PM. Talk about just making it!

Our final dinner was shrimp creole with Caribbean rice and steak. Both were delicious. During dinner the wait staff did that sad song siting that it was our last day :( Hubby picked up his napkin and dabbed the corners of eyes and said that was a sad song, I'm going to miss all of this good food! After dessert we finalized our packing from the day before and left our bags outside and wondered around the ship. Seems like great minds think alike because the casino was not crowded that night. After I won back some of my money I cashed out and headed back to our cabin for my final rest aboard the Liberty.

Out of cabin by 8:00 AM? We were a little tardy.

I found our room steward and gave him a tip. His name is Ugi and he simply great. I requested to have a bucket of ice each day and he did so. He cleaned very well and always greeted us with smile. Plenty of towels, lots of soap (which I did not use, I bring my own), and loved the towel animals. No chocolates on the bed anymore, just the bed turned down.

Carnival no longer leaves complimentary toiletries in the bathroom. This was no big deal to me.

I actually like having the bottle of water instead of the drink coupon and did not miss it at Sea Day Brunch. Cranberry juice did me just fine.

Navigating the ship got easier with time. Decks 1-2 & 6-8 are all cabins. The rest are "cruisers" areas for activities. We never made it to Serenity the furthest I went was deck 11. During the entire week I probably saw about 2 shows and the Michael Jackson show. Hubby went to more than me.

The Liberty is a beautiful ship that is well maintained and the staff was excellent from the dining room to the cleaning crew. If you seemed lost one of the crew members would ask if you needed help with anything. The Guest Services staff needs to be rewarded for some of the abuse that I witnessed. There was a young lady that wanted to remove gratuities from her bill saying that she did not eat in the dining room every night and does not want to leave a tip for them. She was not pleasant and the staff smiled her way through.

Due to the incidents I had the MJ show and the dining room, I did stop at GS to let them know to please use make their staff more mindful about dark venues where beverage staff can have an accident and for the wait staff to check their tea pots for defects to avoid any problems. They apologized and I no I was not offered anything. OH, they did ask me for the staff members names and I told them that I did not bother with that. I just do not want to mess with anyone's livelihood. They were simply accidents, I survived and I refused to let those things ruin my cruise!!

This was port intensive itinerary and worth every effort to get up and go! The islands were worthy of our time and money spent. All of the tour guides we encountered were pleasant and entertaining. The history we obtained from each port (minus St. Maarten) was enlightening to me and every beach was breath taking my eyes. I sincerely recommend this ship and its ports of call. This will be one trip that you will never forget. Well, I forgot a few things and cause some confusion during this review but for the most part, I wanted to share and give back to the CC community.

Thank you to those of you that took the time to read this and I wish you happy sails!

We had breakfast at the very crowded Lido and should have opted to have breakfast at the Silver Olympian instead. It was a scramble to find a clean table. Once we finished our final meal we headed Pixels to purchase more pictures since we had time due to being in group 16 to disembark. After our final ding, your cruise is now over :( we waited on a longggggggggggg line to enter the baggage and TSA area. Our luggage was not at #16. I found it all the down at 20, no big deal. Got back in the long TSA line finally made it through. We were in the cab by 12:30 for a not so long ride to the San Juan airport. Our flight was scheduled to board at 4:30 for wheels up at 5:10,we were super early. After our luggage was scanned we proceeded to United Airlines, check in again (we checked in on the ship the day before) paid those lovely baggage fees and off to a long line at the security gate.

Thanks for the review Tawaik!! We're sailing on Liberty 12/13/15, and doing the same itinerary that you did. Question....all of the excursions you did, were any of them thru Carnival or did you book on your own?

A great evening for sitting on the balcony to relax with glass of red wine that I purchased at the port duty free shop.

What port duty free shop did you get the wine at? I thought the would have confiscated it until the end of the cruise.

Great review, we will be on the Liberty on December 13th so keep it coming!
