euro cruiser Posted May 18, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 18, 2015 In an attempt to ease the congestion on the regular Circumvesuviana trains, EAV (Ente Autonomo Volturno) is introducing a new service on May 25th called the Campania Express. This train will go from Naples (two stops, at Porta Nolana and Napoli Centrale/Garibaldi) direct to Ercolano, Pompei, and Sorrento. Initially there will be only three runs per day in each direction. The fare is 15 Euro round trip, and only round trip tickets will be sold. The timing isn't ideal for most cruise passengers, but for those who want to visit Pompei or Ercolano in the morning and come back to Naples for the afternoon it could be a good alternative. The returns in the afternoon are either too early (about 2:45 PM) or too late (8:45 PM) for almost all cruise passengers. So far I've only found the information in Italian, but here it is: http://www.eavsrl.it/web/it/content/treni-turistici-napoli-ercolano-pompei-sorrento http://napoli.repubblica.it/cronaca/2015/05/14/news/al_via_campania_express_treno_turistico_diretto_per_sorrento-114368022/
