Sunset Catamaran-Bounty Adventures--Don't Do It

We booked this private excursion for a large group. We were there when the seas were exceptionally rough. Carnival cancelled it's catamaran tour due to safety concerns. They would refund anyone for weather concerns.

A huge concern was that there were three young men running the ship and the Captain was drinking rum and coke while sailing.

The drinks started flowing early and were unlimited. It was really cheap stuff. When someone inquired about food, they brought out a small tray of grilled shrimp that had been sitting unrefrigerated for 2 hours covered in foil.

Several had seafood allergies and there was nothing else available. Needless to say after two hours of drinking, no food and rough seas there were some not so pleasant issues.

The excursion is not as advertised. This is directly from their website:

The Sunset Sail Includes:

Champagne and Fingerfood

(Skewered Tenderloin, Shrimps & Chicken)

We weren't expecting a meal, but were expecting more than about 6 shrimp a piece and that was if you were lucky.

Safety is obviously not a concern with this company, nor is false advertising.

Thanks for reporting back on this excursion.

One thing we've learned over the years: When a cruise line is canceling its excursions in a port (especially when there are weather issues) , it is best not book a private. ;)

Wow! Thanks for the heads up. I was just researching again for an upcoming trip and saw your review. :(

Which week were you there? We were there May 13th, and our private excursion with Caribbean sea sports was cancelled. When they contacted me via email, we were told that the coast guard had issued a code pink and it was unsafe. Here's some of the email....

"We are really sorry to say but we have to cancel the snorkeltrip you booked

with us. Since Sunday we have code pink from the coastguard, for a week we

have waves from 9 till 12 feet. For snorkelers not done to go out, it is

not safe to snorkel and the visibility is very bad because of the high

waves.

The weather forecast says that it will stay like this till Friday at least.

Hopefully you will enjoy our beautiful island anyway!"

Carnival had also cancelled their similar excursions. The waves were crazy when we got there, I was glad that our tour was cancelled. Even the Breeze was rocking and rolling during that trip!
