Thanks for your review, we are cruising on Saturday.

We stayed in your Suite in November. Are you finding alot of trash on it in the mornings? It was always wet, covered in soot and had trash on it when we wanted to have our tea and coffee out there.

Is Jorge Atay your steward? I will come up and say hello to him.

Enjoy your cruise!

Thanks Sparky! Yes the balcony is disgusting to exaggerate a bit. All kinds of soot, and whatever it is along with bird poop. Looks like it has not been washed in a year. Very disappointing and we mentioned it to Jorge who is leaving next week in port canaveral for vacation.

We may even mention higher up the chain though not sure who or where, as it is the most unpleasant balcony in all our years cruising and I am not a complainer.

Thanks for following!

Hello Seadog! I am so glad I came across this thread. We are sailing on the Gem next year, and I have been waiting for a live report or a review to pop up. Your pictures and the dailies are fantastic. We will be in 10168, and even though it's not a suite, the view looks incredible. I am so excited. Thank you for taking the time to do this. It's helping make the next 200+ days bearable. 😊

Thanks mking, I use att and while in port will use cell service. I will use wifi onboard and will report on rates ,and compare it to the awesome unlimited service on Quantum.

Also on this booking we had included ultimate dining( 7 specialty dinners) and the beverage package was included along with gratuities with the 4 perks for booking a suite during the booking promotion.

I use tapatalk for iphone and ipad.

More soon

Looking forward to reading everything. Just starting. We have been on Jewel which I believe is just like the Gem. Loved it. Next one is the Dawn. Not sure how close they are but I just love looking at the pictures and reliving it all! We have the same perks for our cruise - such a great deal!

Have a blast!

Thank you jmeriano! Glad you are enjoying it and I know you will enjoy your cruise!

Long day and heading back to calling it an early evening:

Anyone with kids who are video gamers, i am an older adult video gamer and since way back in the day who does not get as much time to play due to work life, so this trip is for relaxing, so in the evenings after the day, I brought along my monitor and playstation 4 and there is enough power in the cabin for it and then some, i checked it out beforehand so while it is a bit more to bring, so far it is worth it :) yes i am a nerd lol. The wife does not mind as it keeps me out of her hair lol

I just bought Witcher III for my PS4 - starting it tomorrow. What do you think?? I never even thought to bring a system with me. DH and I are older and gamers (He has the xbox one (ps4 is better!)). My son would be in heaven if we let him do that next year!

Thanks kc! The jewel and dawn are nice as well, been on the dawn several times to bermuda. I love that this class of ship has a full unobstructed promenade!

Thanks for following along!

I loved the first two games and really love this one! This was our first time bringing one and I have used it manly at night for several hours as a wind down.

The main reason I brought it along was the last three trips we have in this route we had ine or several days of bad weather when we hung around the cabin all day, so I figured why not in the event we have a rainy day again. :)

Good Morning Cruise Critics! Welcome to day 3 of our jaunt on the Gem to Florida and Bahamas.

Happy Memorial Day to everyone, especially all our Veterans and service men and women. You are appreciated!

Weather today is predicted to be Partly Cloudy with a high of 79.

Judging by the sunrise they have the Partly Cloudy correct:

Take a walk with me around the promenade:

I love how there are images painted on the promenade letting you know what area you are walking near inside:

I am surprised Royal Caribbean (kidding I love Royal as well) hasn't made this into a ride on their ships yet lol all kidding aside hope no one ever needs to use this:

Walking only on the promenade? My memory may be failing me but I remember lots of people jogging around it for exercise, including my wife, lol. I don't remember seeing the walking only signs. Love the updates SeaDog!!!

Thanks Bitternan! I believe it is only walking as they have the jogging track on the level above the pool deck. Maybe there are cabins below the promenade? I am not sure.

Funny the daily still shows kids at 50% off in specialties. Hope that's still the rule.

Are there lots of kids everywhere with Max capacity of 76 in Splash Academy?

There were a good bit of kids at the pool but I have not seen that many around otherwise, like in the elevators pushing all the buttons lol.

So not that many, but I did see a small tykes pirate parade yesterday, which was uber-cute!

More likely is I confused the jogging track with the promenade, lol. I think it's time for the wife and I to get back to sea! :-)

Old cruising breakfast standby, Eggs Benny minus the Bacon today. Rarely eat eggs in everyday life let along Benny so one of my favorite indulgences on a cruise. The eggs benny are way better here on the gem compared to the quantum last month by far!

Breakfast has been 10 out of 10 so far!
