Early flights from Rome to Paris

I have tried to find information on taking earlier flights than suggested by Celebrity, but the threads seem to be very old.

We plan to fly from Rome to Paris on disembarking. We would like to book a flight that leaves Rome around 10 AM. Our ship docks at 5 AM. If our shuttle picks us up at 7 AM would that be enough time ? I know the airport recently had a bad fire and didn't know how that might affect security.

I know what Celebrity says, but on past cruises we see people leaving ship very early. I would not like to waste an entire day for a 2 hour flight.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

On our last two cruises that ended in Rome (Civitivecchia), they didn't start disembarking until after 8. The drive to the Rome airport is at least 60 minutes. Don't know if you've ever flown out of that airport before, but check in and security screenings, along with Italian Customs/Immigration can take an hour, but usually more. Since most airlines require you to be on board at least 20 minutes before an international flight, I don't see how you can make a 10am flight.

My worst check-in for an international flight, ever, ever, ever, was in Rome in October 2014.

I arrived three hours ahead of my flight and still almost missed it due to a mixture of complete incompetence and complete disinterest. I have never met any airline employees less interested in customer service in my life!

I have flown from Rome to Bologna last year from Terminal 3 after a cruise on a 9:30 flight no problem.

We walked off with luggage at 6:30 am and were at FCO before 7:30 am. The problems are when you have to take a flight back to the US not so much with inter European flights departing from Terminal three. Terminal Five is another story.

IMO you should be able to make a 10 am flight unless there are delays disembarking from Civitavecchia which dont usually happen. But I would have a backup plan just in case of Murphys Law. What time is the later flight? If only an hour or so later I would book that one rather than the 10am.

PS I would want to get to Paris ASAP too. Lol
