Ponchos

Recommended Posts

I take a hooded waterproof jacket. Serves to keep the wind out and me warmer if needed. DH does carry a couple nylon traveling ponchos in case. But I'd rather just wear the jacket. It's a personal preference. And yes you will see them all over in downpours...on the tourists.

Ponchos are very lightweight. Carry one with you, and then you have the choice of wearing it and being dry and individual, or not wearing it and being wet but fashionable.

Alternatively, take a showerproof coat and an umbrella.

Do you really care what others think you look like if it rains?

We always carry those cheap disposable ponchos, but if you are against them, pack one of those small collapsible umbrellas. They can fit into your bag and with an umbrella, you won't look like a dork. :D:D:D:D:D

Cheers

Yes, you will see a lot of tourists using ponchos; not Norwegians. They will generally be wearing mid-thigh hooded and wind proof rain coats. A lot of locations are also windy (including on board ship) and ponchos are not very practical in those conditions.
