MaiTaiMary Posted June 6, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 6, 2015 Do any of the all-inclusive resorts along the Playa Del Carmen area offer day passes to cruise passengers? We were originally thinking of doing Nachi Cocom, but DH really wants to see the Playa Del Carmen area in anticipation of coming back to a future vacation here. thanks! :D
Rare crewsweeper Posted June 6, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 6, 2015 (edited) You really need to contact the resorts there, or look up their web sites. At one time cruise ships stopped at Calica, the "port" near Playa, but not of late, so many may have had day passes. There are a number of beach clubs in the area. The Playa Del Carmen forum on Trip Advisor has some good information and reviews of these places, by people staying in the area. But you'll need to email the clubs of interest and see if they have day passes. And remember, you'll need to pay very close attention to return ferry times relative to your cruise ship's departure time. Most likely you'll be taking the 10 AM ferry to Playa and the 3PM ferry back. Schedules do change from time to time. Also check the clock time in Playa relative to your ship's time and confirm the return times at the ferry dock. So you'll have limited time at an AI or beach club there. Lots to do in Playa though just walking around Avenida Juarez and getting a sense of the area. Edited June 6, 2015 by crewsweeper
