hotel advice please

I am flying into Anchorage on July 12 and catching the cruise in Seward in July 13th. I'm considering the train from Anchorage to Seward on the 13th, but need advice for a hotel in Anchorage for the 12th. Doesn't have to be fancy--just clean & safe. Thanks

We stayed at Susitna Place Bed and Breakfast. Loved it - very close to the town centre, so you can walk everywhere; nice breakfast; beautiful views from the back deck; very comfortable accommodations. I would stay there again.

at this late date you better hop on expedia or some such site and see what's available. Post back if you need feedback.

Most major chains are near the airport if you have points to burn. Many offer a free b'fast and a shuttle to/from the airport. A taxi to the train station in the morning will take about 20 minutes and $30.

When we are in town, we usually stay at the Clarion Suites downtown. Nice rooms, a pool, free breakfast. And I'm pretty sure they offer an airport and railroad shuttle. You might want to double check that though.
