Hi Trent,

Sorry to bother you but I was wondering if you know of any hotel that are not chain hotels ie Amerisutes, Hyatt etc in either Fort Lauderdale ( close enough to cab it to Las Olas ) or Miami. We are looking for something a little less cookie cutter like the chains but something decent and not overly expensive.

Well if you want to be near Las Olas there's a very nice independant hotel right on Las Olas called Riverside Hotel... http://www.riversidehotel.com/

 

There are 2 parts to Riverside. There's a new modern tower, and there's the old classic hotel that's not for everyone. The location is incredible, right downtown at the beginning of the nicest part of Las Olas Blvd... http://www.lasolasboulevard.com/

 

On the beach is Pelican Beach Resort... http://www.pelicanbeach.com/

 

Pelican Beach is a Best Western, but it's nothing like any Best Western I've ever seen. There's an old part as well, but I would only recommend the new tower, which is gorgeous (it's the one you see on the website), and it's definitely not like any "cookie cutter" chain.
