puffin108 Posted June 11, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 11, 2015 They show films usually in the afternoon in the Arena Theatre. However if they are rehearsing a show they can show them in the Tamarind Club. I'm not sure about watching them in your stateroom.
Big Stevie Posted June 11, 2015 #3 Share Posted June 11, 2015 Just come off the Ventura myself, films were shown in the Arena Theatre and also in the Tamarind bar. Ours was a Strictly Come Dancing Cruise and most of the films were old black & white musicals which I didn't bother to see. They did show a couple of recent release films as well, but they were shown on days when we were at port so didn't have the chance to see them. chelseababy Posted June 12, 2015 #4 Share Posted June 12, 2015 Also just off Strictly cruise. Noticed Belle and Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel in Arena Theatre, not on TV as far as I know. Think both were on sea day afternoons.
Wiz201 Posted June 12, 2015 #5 Share Posted June 12, 2015 I watched a film in the arena on ventura and the quality wasn't good as they had just stretched it out onto a bigger screen.
HomelessBear Posted June 12, 2015 #6 Share Posted June 12, 2015 There was a fair list of films that you can watch on the cabin TV. Also some episodes of TV programmes - I've watched the Dr Who episodes on our past 3 cruises, so they obviously don't update them very often! insanemagnet Posted June 12, 2015 #7 Share Posted June 12, 2015 On Ventura the quality of the film projection is absolutely shocking, but from speaking to the technical staff they are trying (and failing) to use equipment that is not designed for the purpose. If you can envisage a poor quality VHS picture blown up to cinema screen size, and shown at the incorrect aspect ratio, that is what Ventura is offering. Given the quality of the rest of the entertainment, it is an embarrassment to P&O.
tartanexile81 Posted June 12, 2015 #8 Share Posted June 12, 2015 (edited) There are films shown in the theatre / show lounge most days and there are also films shown on your cabin TV some of which you have to pay for. I usually find I can catch up with films I missed in the last 12 months at the cinema but they are usually adventure / romance / thrillers. To find out what is being shown currently, here's a link to the page on the P&O website and just scroll down to Ventura. https://ask.pocruises.com/help/PO/life-on-board/films Edited June 12, 2015 by tartanexile81
