California Costal Crusie

We have done the california coastal a number of times and have arrived the same day at about the same time you are planning to arrive and we have never had a problem making the ship. We do book air and transfers through Princess and buy insurance if we are flying in the same day "just in case".

No question, it would be less stressful to fly in the day before, but we aren't always able to do that.

Enjoy your trip.

If you are still deciding to fly in the same day, please keep these factors in mind:

Direct Flight (no stop and go/no connections)

Earliest possible flight and make sure there are 3-4 additional flights available (even on different airlines)

Two unexpected "delays":

Had a VERY early flight (6 AM) out of LAX to Montana. Silly me, I thought Delta would have the plane waiting (overnight) at LAX for me. Seems like this flight was delayed coming in. In fact, in the prior 7 days, it was late 5 times. Scramble to get on another flight from a different airport. Still missed my connecting flight (originally 90 minutes between flights). Arrived 7 hours later than scheduled.

Southwest from Tampa to LAX. Supposedly same plane with multiple stops but no plane changes. Get to Texas. Every body off please. "We" reassigned this plane to replace another canceled flight. All passengers deplane, wait for another plane to arrive, get back on, and still puddle jump to another airport before reaching our final destination.

Do I trust planes to get me from one point to another in a timely manner? NO. At least now I can travel at my leisure. Would I chance missing a cruise by flying in the same day? Not a chance.

Good luck with whatever decision you make.
