jticarruthers Posted June 23, 2015 #26 Share Posted June 23, 2015 Service in MDR on our Jewel cruise was so bad it was funny. Our team was personable and pleasant and tried hard they were just completely overwhelmed and couldn't get the job done. Our table was on time every night and ready to order when they came around, but we were the last table out of the MDR everynight. We were always a "course behind" the tables behind us from a serving standpoint. One guy at the table was a diet coke drinker and was constantly looking at an empty glass. The last night we all picked up diet cokes for him so he had 8 diet cokes sitting at the table when the waiters came around with his first one. CrusieToy Posted July 11, 2015 #27 Share Posted July 11, 2015 It had been 3 years since our last cruise. We noticed staff shortages in cabin attendants (our attendant told us he had 16 cabins BY HIMSELF) shortages in WJ staff, shortages in MDR staff and drink waitstaff out by the pool. They ALL have more work to do now and service is suffering because of it in our opinions. We also noted this on the survey. I will say this though that our MDR staff was on point and very good despite all the tables they had to wait on. Noticed the same thing- less staff I think the comp. is in the pricing and the mass cruise lines are cutting back on staff. Still love to cruise and think it is a great value just that the changes are obvious.
