Paulette3028 Posted July 16, 2015 #127 Share Posted July 16, 2015 As we have seen with the recent announcement that the Majesty is not leaving the fleet as originally planned, changes in the fleet and deployments can vary without much warning. The redeployment of Her Majesty tells us one thing.....plans change. They change for many reasons, all of which we don't know, but surely can speculate on. Majesty is not the smallest ship in the fleet, even though she may be the oldest. Keeping older ships has to take into consideration many different things....but smaller ships will always have places that they can go, that the larger mega ships can't. I hope that smaller is never out of style -- it would be sad to eliminate the ports the mega ships can't do.
LBeeE Posted July 16, 2015 Author #128 Share Posted July 16, 2015 (edited) Thank you for that insight chengkp75 - yes I was thinking that cruise ships probably eventually experience "old boat syndrome" just the same as small boats do. You don't want "old boat syndrome" :D costs a fortune, and no matter what is done, the costs keep mounting and things continue to break and need replacing at a more rapid pace. But very interesting to know the logistics and requirements for cruise ships at this stage. Edited July 16, 2015 by LBeeE
