You see this your way, and I see it my way. It's not in the context of anything necessary.

I am glad to hear that you vacation from time to time, and don't mind be left out of activities due to some form of disability.

I am very happy for you.

So they should have NO contests because you or someone else with disabilities can't participate? That doesn't sound fair either.

Should they not have the hairy chest contest because it's discriminatory to women?

We were on the 7/18 Sunshine. We did not run, by any means to the Red Frog. We actually were walking around and poked our head in and no one was there.

The bartendar rang the bell above the bar, telling us that it was signaling that we were the first ones there. He took our picture (with our camera!) and we ordered two beers.

Then, he handed us our receipt. No free beers for us. Just a ring of the bell. We laughed, shook our heads and paid our bill!

Using our camera should have been the tip off!

(I did ask if the beers were free and he said he was new and had no idea what I was talking about!)

I was first in the Red Frog Pub recently on the Breeze. I had a Suite and also FTTF. The Captain's lounge was pretty crowded so I made sure that I was at the front of the line when the person came to escort us on the ship. I skipped the photo and the elevators and took the stairs. While I didn't actually take off running, I did walk rather briskly :). When I got to the Red Frog Pub, there was a couple sitting at the bar enjoying a mug of beer. I was so disappointed until everyone started cheering and told me that I was the first one to appear! The couple was actual on a B2B and we therefore not eligible to participate. Lucky me!!!

They had some kind of fried peas to snack on. Weird.

Those were Frog Balls, and were delicious. I learned how they make them and from what. Very interesting.

BTW we were first on that cruise, they came and took our photo, and gave us a free drink. It never showed up on John's website though. I was disappointed.

I have seen people on John's page that others knew were on a B2B. I think they should be disqualified for the second leg.

I have also seen people complaining that they didn't get the free drink just as a poster on here did. I'm sure all they heard was Red Frog and rushed to the Rum bar. Not all ships have the pub. Sometimes I can't tell if people don't listen or if things are shown clearly enough

I had also heard they were disqualified if on a B2B.

Had to laugh at this quote as I don't think any hairy chested women would respond to argue your point.

LOL. My point was really that just because one group of people may not be able to participate, doesn't mean it should be removed for everyone. If this were they case, then they should do away with sports deck, or anything else that someone may not be able to participate in.

Seems silly to complain about an event and try to bring everyone else down because you're not able to participate.

all of this trouble over a free beer and a picture?

I will be on the pride from july 5-12. I will buy the first person that sees me at a bar any drink they want up to $15.00. I'll even get you the fruity drink in the whale tail cup. I will snap your picture with my iphone and email it to you right away.

i really don't think it's just about the one free glass of beer. Ga pearl made it there first and gave her beer away because she doesn't drink beer. It's just a game some like to play to be featured on john's fb page. It's no big deal, just fun for some folks.

unfortunate, yes. Discriminatory, no. I'm one of those with disabilities and learned a long time ago, just like i taught my kids....sometimes life just isn't fair.

If there were barriers to the necessary things, like food, water, or even the entertainment....then there's a problem. But something as silly as a free beer and a possible picture??? Not even worth mentioning. We'd have a pretty miserable life if we took note of, and complained about, every little thing that we couldn't participate in. I prefer to be happy about the things i can participate in.

I'm just glad i'm able to cruise. Period. :)

well said mizdaisy
