Can balcony dividers be OPENED between cabins

Is it possible to "open" balconies between adjacent cabins on the Breakaway

 

On a previous Princess Cruise we had 5 cabins and where able to open the balcony dividers so we could walk the length of the 5 cabins via the balcony.

 

Looking at decks 9 through 12

I can't speak for the Breakaway, but last year on the Dawn we tried to get our adjacent balcony dividers opened and they refused. They said it was a safety issue.

The only time is possibly while in port. But they can't be open while at sea.

And if you wait a few minutes someone will come along and tell you their way of opening them anyway. NCL does not want them open while underway and will open them in port if you wish. Some feel it is their "right" to ignore the safety rules.

NCL's daily newsletter, Freestyle Daily, will state on most ships that the dividers are to be opened for maintenance needs only because of safety reasons.

We had ours unlocked and opened on day one before departing and no one ever came back to close them the whole week long....
