packyourpixiedust Posted June 27, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 27, 2015 I'm doing a last minute Disney cruise in a few weeks. I'm certified and would like to get a couple of dives in while in St Marteen. I will be traveling by myself so I want it to be convenient. Any suggestions. (I know it won't be the best diving but I just want to get in the water.) the ship doesn't offer a diving excursion at that port. Thanks!
omeinv Posted June 27, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 27, 2015 I used Octopus Diving there. They arranged for a taxi to meet us at the port, and take you to their shop on the French side. It wasn't the best diving in the Caribbean, but I liked the way they had everything organized, and they worked well with the time the ship was in port. The congestion around the port makes the trip to and from their shop take a lot of time, so I'd be hesitant to go with other shops, since even though the trip is not far, it goes slowly, particularly on the return. I liked their staff both for per-arrival communication and on the boats. They also have a good facility to clean gear post-dive, if you have your own. http://octopusdiving.com/ Harris Denver, CO

jordanandcathy Posted July 11, 2015 #4 Share Posted July 11, 2015 My husband also used octopus diving and loved it. He had a great time. Here is a link to his diving video
lunula Posted July 15, 2015 #5 Share Posted July 15, 2015 I will second using Octopus Divers - we used them in 2013 and they were great. We had everything set up and paid for prior to our arrival, and they set up a cab to meet us at the cruise pier, it was like $40 roundtrip. The diving itself wasn't phenomenal, but it was good - great guide from Octopus, though.
