Quiet Large Balcony (B6) locations on Epic

I like the idea of a slightly larger balcony and asked my TA to quote category B6 on Epic for next year. I went on NCL.com and they would try to book me on deck 11 or 12. I am a little concerned about the fact that the studios and studio lounge are on those decks and whether that generates a higher noise level than Decks 9 and 10.

So I asked the TA if there was availability on 9 and 10 and yes, there is. I'm kind of intrigued about selecting 10001 - it's the most forward cabin on the deck. Surely it's away from traffic and hallway noise. Any downside? Like hearing the anchor drop or something even less obvious?

Please take a look at this link - - valuable post done by SDMike on the Epic hull balconies. You can see exactly where 10001 is located and what the balcony looks like from the exterior of the ship.

I'm going to look back and see which B6 we had on the Epic and post you a photo .... separate post.

Rather than repost photos here is a link to a previous post where I provided photo of our favorite aft facing B1 balcony on Epic 10318 as well as photo of our B6 large balcony 12241.

Although we prefer the aft facing view the deck 12 location of 12241 was perfect, close but not too close to elevators and sandwiched between stateroom decks.

Here is link to free "drag it decks" page for the Epic. Use the elevators to line up decks so you can see what is above and below your prospective stateroom.

I know you were asking about deck 10 B6s, but my parents have sailed the Epic three times in B6s all on deck 12 and have had no noise issues from the studios. My sister has also been in a B6 on deck 12, and we've sailed the Epic twice, but in BAs on deck 11. All sailings had no noise from the studios.

The B6 my parents had was 12092 and my sister was in 12096. Both were quiet.

Just wanted to toss that out there in case you aren't set on deck 10. Enjoy the Epic and the larger balcony!

Thanks, all. I found this most helpful, even followed a few links to other good info. I hadn't realized that the large balconies in the bow did not have a glass barrier and would prefer that.

I came across another post about a balcony cabin across from the Medical Center being quiet. There are 2 that line up with 12241 on deck 10. I think either of them wil work.

I decided to book 10254 which is across from the medical center. Hopefully I won't see or hear anything I regret.

It's probably not the quietest cabin on board but I hated to give up the glass enclosure on the balcony to ride up front. The diagrams may be deceptive but it looks like one of the larger balconies.

You'll have to wait until May 2016 before I can report back. :D
