Rainbowfalls Posted July 7, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 7, 2015 I was wondering if they are still doing day passes for the resort and if so how much. Thank you!!
Barbluvstocruz Posted July 7, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 7, 2015 We are going in August and are thinking about the day pass. They still have it on their website. It's at the very bottom of the page in the FAQ section, here is what it says: Can I buy a daypass at the resort? A day pass is available and can be purchased for $15 for adults (10 & older) and $7 for children (3-10). This allows access to our property, beach and pools as well as daily resort activities, but does not include towels. Towels can be rented for $3, plus a $7 refundable deposit. :D
Rainbowfalls Posted July 10, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted July 10, 2015 Thank you!, If you do decide to go could you give an update? I haven't been in years so worried about how much has changed. Hope you enjoy your cruise!

TargetsMom Posted July 16, 2015 #5 Share Posted July 16, 2015 I was there a year or two ago and loved it. The pool is amazing, large and meandering. Very few people were in it. There are shops and restaurants nearby (which is where the shuttle drops you off and picks you up). Shuttle is something like $5 each way. I am looking forward to a return visit! (Bring your own towel from the ship.) kathy

To me it is worth the 15-20 dollars for a day pass per person since other places can charge more. I just hope it hasn't gotten run down or had horrible management changes since then. phofe Posted July 20, 2015 #8 Share Posted July 20, 2015 I was there on Friday - $15 day pass - well worth it - very quiet, clean - excellent pools - coffee shop in lobby - only problem is they only take cash - there is a gate that you enter and pay - gate is in between the casino building and the hotel lobby building. Towels are extra. For fun we took a one hour tour on the back of a banana boat - the tour took us to the dolphin marina - through the canals to see the houses and then past Oprah's house - we looked at is as an hour banana boat ride for $30! Grand Lucayan Unfortunately at this time, day passes are unavailable until further notice. I hope that we have them come September, but currently, our resort is almost fully booked and part of our property is under renovation. If you would like to follow up with me prior to your visit, I would be more than happy to let you know the status of availability. I apologize for any inconvenience! Otowncruiser Posted August 9, 2015 #15 Share Posted August 9, 2015 I was able to book it yesterday through shore excursioneer and received my e-tickets today. I had inquired about whether or not it was still available through them and this is the response I got. I received an e-mail with my e-tickets today. I guess I should still call the resort to make sure they will honor it. Maybe these 3rd parties have a limited number available they can sell? The cost is a little more ($19.99 per adult and $10.99 per child), but still seems like a good deal for a day pass. Hello Leah, Thank you for your email and inquiry about Freeport Grand Lucayan Beach Resort Day Pass (S1630). At the moment we do not have any sold or restriction about it. Therefore you can book for it at any time you want. If you would like to make a reservation, please click on the blue link above to start your shopping cart. All reservations are made online and only the deposit amount is paid when ordering. When we receive your payment, we will process the reservation and send your eticket to you. The eticket will have all of the important information on it - a breakdown of your balance, where to pay, where exactly go and who will meet you along with their phone number as well as ours, the cancellation policy, what to do if there are ship issues, etc. Hi, I am interested in the Grand Lucayan Day pass, but according to their website they are not doing day passes currently. Are they honoring the day passes booked through your site? Thanks! Leah
ancfun Posted August 9, 2015 #16 Share Posted August 9, 2015 Hmmm....wonder if they'll have them for my Sept trip or not? Still trying to decide what to do. Guess this needs to be moved to the bottoms of my list. :(
Rainbowfalls Posted August 9, 2015 Author #17 Share Posted August 9, 2015 :( that's such a bummer. I will contact them in November and hopefully all is well otherwise I will try to find other accommodations. Super sad though cause I wanted my family to love it as much as me and my bf did. hpugirl27 Posted August 12, 2015 #23 Share Posted August 12, 2015 I was just there the other day and unfortunately can confirm they are not doing day passes "until further notice". However, they do still have the sign out front offering them  You can walk a few minutes further down from the hotel though and still access the public beach for free. You won't be able to use the amenities of course, but, the beach is pretty.

hpugirl27 Posted August 12, 2015 #25 Share Posted August 12, 2015 By amenities I just mean the ones at the hotel such as their pools, etc. I don't know what the beach was called but it's the same one that the Grand Lucayan backs up to. The people that normally give you the day passes told us to keep walking straight past the police station, make a left and walk all the way down. I'd say it was about an 8 minute walk or so. Same beach. We just walked back down towards the hotel once we got to the public access point. There were workers policing the lounge chairs to make sure that if you weren't part of a hotel, that you could not use them. So a bunch of people just laid towels out in the sand and it was just fine.
