readytosail Posted September 19, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2005 Any advice about the beaches at Hawksbill? How far from the cruise port?
cruisinsince75 Posted September 20, 2005 #2 Share Posted September 20, 2005 I'd like to know also. Any idea what the cab fare is? How about to Long Bay?
ilgander Posted September 20, 2005 #3 Share Posted September 20, 2005 Add me to the list of people interested in info about the Hawksbill Beach area. I understand that there are 4 beaches, the furthest out of which is clothing-optional. There is a resort there as well. For anyone who has been, could you please tell me if you need to purchase a day pass at the resort to use the beaches? We really just want to visit the beaches, not the resort, but I also don't want to bend any rules. Also, are taxis to get back to the port readily available when we would be ready to leave? How about other amenities on the beaches like umbrellas, chairs and restrooms? Thanks in advance!:) Carla
Antiguan Posted September 20, 2005 #4 Share Posted September 20, 2005 taxi drive = 15 minutes about 15-20 dollars each way up to 4 peeps in a cab. no charge for beach usage. they have 4 beaches make sure you are on the 4th and furthest before you take your clothes off! People have gotten naked on the first one only to be laughed at and told off. the clothing optional beach has no bar or rest. quite a beautiful part of antigua. ilgander Posted September 22, 2005 #5 Share Posted September 22, 2005 Thanks for the info! Do we arrange a taxi pickup at a certain time in advance with the driver that brings us to Hawksbill or do we have to ask the resort to call a taxi whenever we're ready to go?
