luv2gonow Posted July 11, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 11, 2015 Hi, I wanted to bring a small fan with me on my land/sea tour. I will be in Venice, Florence and Rome by land. I would imagine a fan would need a converter and adaptor. Wondering if I should get battery fan with rechargeable batteries? Does recharging batteries need a converter? I see that charging iphone seems to only need adaptor. Would it be easier to just buy fan in Venice? Are they readily available. My hotel is near St. Marks square I believe. CathyCruises Posted July 11, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 11, 2015 You can probably find one that is dual power, like my hair dryer and hot rollers are. Check on amazon. Then all you'll need is an adapter. I wouldn't spend my precious time wandering around looking for a place to buy a fan. Otoh how are you planning to transport it?? cruise kitty Posted July 14, 2015 #3 Share Posted July 14, 2015 Hi, I have a small personal fan that I always take with me, bought at target, it plugs into a USB charger, I've used it in Italy, France, & the UK with no problems, you don't need a converter, just an adaptor for your USB plug. When I travel with DH, I can plug it directly into his laptop when he is charging. I bought a European USB charger/plug off of amazon, so now I don't even need to worry about the adaptor. The fan is in the lower left hand corner of this pic:

bolivar21 Posted July 18, 2015 #5 Share Posted July 18, 2015 (edited) I am looking for a portable fan as well but not USB. Just a small battery operated or plug in fan. I suffer from severe hot flashes and want to be ready for summer travels. Any suggestions? Edited July 18, 2015 by bolivar21
