Dave, she was waiting to debark, as in she is returning today and a waiter told her they would start the new menu. This is a week early perhaps Carnival moved the start date or maybe some confusion with the "new menu start next cruise", wait staff meant 7/19 and OP thought 7/12.

Thanks - I had previously heard the 19th - but starting early wouldn't hurt. They can get some of the bugs out. Oops - shouldn't have said that about food topics
