Grabbing local taxi for short tour and beach break?

Essentially, we just want to walk off the boat, grab a taxi that will give us an hour or so tour of the island (mountaintop, etc.) and then drop us off at the beach for 3-4 hours. Not Godfrey as we don't want to shop and want a longer beach break. Curious if there were any to grab in advance and if not, what is a typical cost for this for around 4 people?

We have very same thought. Think ride around a little, go to mountain top, then to beach and snorkel maybe at sapphire. It is very confusing reading info on sapphire. Many say there are no open facilities other say yes?

Some facilities were closed & remodeled but I believe everything is open now.

He was right there waiting for us at the agreed upon time. We did exactly what you have in mind, a short tour and drop off/ pick up at a beach.

 

We made all arrangements with him prior and did not run into any issues. Just tell him exactly what you want and for how many people to get a quote.

We were only 4 in our group and he did all this for us only, no other passengers where picked up.

Regarding the web cam at Sapphire it is live just ignore the date.

Many reviews here are less helpful than helpful because they're incomplete or inaccurate. Sapphire has restrooms and a beach grill that serves sandwiches and drinks as well as a small restaurant, both have a runner taking drink and food orders on the beach. The condo property restaurant and pool bar are closed, but that affects condo owners more than day visitors.

 

Great beach with good snorkeling and nice island views. The drone video in the webcam link givea s nice overview of the bay...

See the link fnother private driver. Ifontactinanyone be sure to specify you want a private tour/ride if that is important. But if Stanley steady hasa booking for another couple or group he may also easily be able to give you a partial tour and drop you at Sapphire and return for you.

We are also thinking about an early morning private tour and then go to Sapphire Beach. Already been to Coki Beach. Would love to go to Magens Bay for a quick visit then to some of the other beaches on the other side like Lindquist and anything else interesting. Then spend at least 2-3 hours at Sapphire Beach before going back to the ship.

I never used Dean but contacted about rates for private transportation to a few beaches... $55 an hour with 4 hour minimum.

Coki was so pretty! Just stick to the left when facing the water. Much less crowded.
