T2C Posted July 16, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 16, 2015 We're booked on a cruise for August on the Casino rate offer. It says up to a certain amount off, which we did get, AND $50 casino cash (it's a 7 day cruise) and that's what the question is on. The credit for the casino cash is no where on any of the paperwork (on line) and a call to CCL got the following. Go to the casino, bring the email or mailing if you have it and they will give you the $50 credit there in cash. Has anyone done this before and does that sound right? Even though it's not on any of our paperwork the casino will know?
vwrestler171 Posted July 16, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 16, 2015 That is correct. Carnival won't have any record of the casino cash, because the casino is a 3rd party and they are the ones giving you the cash.
Fla Senior Posted July 16, 2015 #3 Share Posted July 16, 2015 You will (should) get an email with the casino cash amount. Print that out and bring to casino. They will give you cash equal to the amount.
niiaka Posted July 16, 2015 #4 Share Posted July 16, 2015 Trust me- print out that offer and bring with you to the casino cage to pick up $. Too many times our names were not on the list and I had to supply proof to get the cash
T2C Posted July 16, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted July 16, 2015 (edited) Ok, thanks however, we did not get an email. We got a mailing and used the code in the mailing for the fare. Should we contact someone to get verification that we did book that fare? We do still have the snail mail item with the wife's name, she's the casino player Edited July 16, 2015 by T2C

winddawn Posted July 16, 2015 #7 Share Posted July 16, 2015 (edited) We're booked on a cruise for August on the Casino rate offer. Take whatever documentation you have--just in case. The casino cashier is supposed to have a list of names of those with the casino cash offer; however, one time out of many I had trouble getting my casino cash because my name was not on the list when I had the offer. It was near the end of my cruise before they could research it and I received the cash. I did not take documentation with me that time because I had received casino cash many times prior to that without any difficulty. So I learned my lesson that time. I always take some kind of documentation with me. I asked my PVP about this recently and she said that on the email booking confirmation that you receive under the Guest Notes section at the bottom of the email, it shows, "Casino cash may be eligible." Now that certainly does not seem like definitive proof that you have casino cash coming nor how much, but it is one piece of evidence that I will save along with whatever else I receive about the offer. This is one area where Carnival could do a much better job of being transparent with their offers to avoid a situation like I had which at the time felt like a bait and switch. It was rather embarrassing to have to visit the casino cashier every day to inquire about the status of their research only to be turned away. When I receive a premier cruise offer, eventually I get the snail mail announcement about that and it shows the amount of casino cash the offer includes, but when I book a regular casino offer I do not receive anything that shows how much casino cash the offer includes. I have to call and ask, but of course that does not provide evidence of the amount. Good luck! Edited July 16, 2015 by winddawn

winddawn Posted July 16, 2015 #11 Share Posted July 16, 2015 Your printed email offer or the snail mail offer that you will get soon is all you need. When I receive a regular casino offer, as opposed to a premier casino offer, I never receive either an email nor snail mail announcement of the offer. If I didn't look online for it, I would never even know I have it. That is problematic if I have to provide proof. The only way I ever know how much the online casino offer casino cash is for is if I call my PVP and ask.

NCTribeFan Posted July 16, 2015 #13 Share Posted July 16, 2015 I thought the Players Club no longer even took phone calls. So if you were just calling Carnival, you won't get an email confirmation because it isn't Carnival giving you the casino cash. For regular casino offers (or any non-Premier/Ultra booking), I've always emailed the Players Club and received confirmation of any $ amount, printed that and taken it with me. That was based on prior play, not because I received a casino offer. There are different offers... Casino rate (just a reduced fare with no other perks; possibly a little cash based on prior play) Premier offers (reduced fare, cash, other perks) Ultra offers (same but better on-board perks I think) Elite (haven't seen one of those so can't say but probably just more of the same). Elaine515 Posted July 16, 2015 #14 Share Posted July 16, 2015 Thank you, just got off the phone with them and they refused, twice, to send email confirmation, even denied they do that What # did you call and who did you speak to ? And as info, on one of my cruises, my name was not on the list at the Casino Cage... No biggie, I asked them to email Michael first thing Monday morning to confirm and Monday night they gave me the money that I was promised.... Won't work on a weekend cruise, but does for a 7 day :)

genovesemylove Posted July 16, 2015 #16 Share Posted July 16, 2015 I just sent an email and got an immediate reply saying how much I had and to collect at the cage. Thank for the info everyone. $25 free play is better than nothing!
T2C Posted July 16, 2015 Author #17 Share Posted July 16, 2015 My TA saw me post this question to John on his FB page and called me. He said it was on the page TA's use through CCL and while he couldn't forward it to me, the site wouldn't allow it, he took a pic and sent that to me with the PTC code and what it includes. Great having a TA in the family who can handle headaches instead of me doing it myself:)
