Divina smoking areas

Smoking is permitted on the port side of the ship in the designated outdoor areas. The Garden Bar on deck 15 aft has tables and chairs with ash trays and this seemed to be the most popular spot for those who smoke.

There is also a cigar lounge on deck 6 where smoking is permitted as well:

We sailed Yacht Club in June this year. You could smoke inside at the Top Sail Lounge on the right hand side as you walk in. You could also smoke in the one pool area (port side) where they have tables and chairs with umbrellas or on your lounger.

The Cigar bar was also a choice, funnily enough the Casino was smoking friendly on the Eastern Mediterranean Cruise as well.

Enjoy your cruise.

Smoking is not allowed in the casino when Divina is stateside.

Is it true that you can only smoke in the TopSailLounge when in Europe but that while departing from Miami it is forbidden?

I read that somewhere...

I'll never understand that. Why would they change the rules for other destinations?

Cruising MSC YC 7th June 2015, Eastern Mediterranean.

MSC are making great efforts to gain a significant share of the American cruise market which is predominantly anti-smoking. Whereas, the market in Europe isn't so much.

But aren't they now making the American cruise market less appealing to smokers?

In saying that, are the non smokers less likely to cruise in Europe? I still think it's bizarre to change the rules for different countries. [emoji57]

Hi Anthony and Jenny,

In this instance the majority rules. I used to almost always get a balcony cabin as I could smoke there with coffee in the morning or cocktails in the afternoon/evening, or whenever. Now I usually go with something else, unless the price is not all that much higher.

Nice thing is, not having the option of having a balcony to be able to smoke on, makes me spend a lot more time out on the decks, and I meet a lot more people.

I see you are from Melbourne. Melbourne is my favorite city in Australia. Australia and her people are awesome. I have been to your great land 4 times and have always had a marvelous time and I feel so welcome by you amazing folks. I hope you feel at home too when you are in the States.

On a repositioning cruise from Miami to Rome this year the smoking areas increased greatly as we hit the Azores. The YC was a totally non-smoking area, there was a little area outside the sun deck where you could puff away if you wanted to.

The casino was a no smoking area until we hit Europe, then the ash-trays appeared. Everyone was happy and smelled nicer before The Azores. Will not sail MSC again in Europe, I am European, until the staff enforce the rules. Saw some people turn over the No-Smoking sign to use as a shelf for an ash tray, staff said nothing.:(.

I am considering MSC for a future Med cruise and have a question?

Was this happen often and did anyone approach the staff for enforcement?

Thanks, I knew about the casino and that is fine. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't everywhere....especially in the cabin.

I can remember when smoking was allowed in the cabins and the smell never really goes away :(
