fridge in sunshine staterooms?

The sunshine went through an upgrade but more so for the decks and not so much the rooms. Here is the info I found on the Carnival forum but I know there are many here with the info as well just in case I missed something.

 

"Ship: SH (suites and staterooms on decks 3/5/10/11/12 and select staterooms on deck 9)

 

On Lido Deck 9 the following cabins have minibars

 

Inside cabins 9132, 9130, 9117 and 9119

 

Both Captain's Suites 9128 and 9115

 

All the Scenic Ocean View cabins 9107, 9109, 9111, 9122, 9124 and 9126

 

Just remember if you bring a cooler the size requirements are strictly followed.

 

12x12x12

 

I have read that even a 1/4 inch off will get it confiscated. So, if the cooler is 10X12 1/2x 10 it is not acceptable."

We have gotten used to have a fridge in our cabin and very disappointed when we found out that the bulk of Sunshines cabins dont have this.

 

Luckily plenty of other ships for us to choose from

Yeah I agree, the mini fridge is very nice to have. Part of the reason why we bit the bullet and upgraded to a spa room for our October sailing. Not the FULL reason but the added bonus of the fridge is pretty nice. Gotta keep my mixers cold you know :).

We keep our wine chilled and usually bring back some fruit to the cabin.

 

Once we left Fantasy glass for later ships got used to frig and see no reason to go back to not having one.

Amazes me that people will pick a ship based on whether the cabin has a fridge or not! :rolleyes: Here I thought the idea of cruising was to get to beautiful ports with gorgeous beaches and tropical rainforests! Silly me!

 

Just ask for a plastic bucket at a bar and ask your cabin steward to provide ice.

 

Or here's a novel idea!! Leave the cabin, walk a few steps, maybe even climb a flight of stairs (radical, I know) and go to the buffet and get a glass or two of ice. I've heard reports that exercise is actually good for you! :p

 

If you have meds that need refrigeration, that's a different issue and contacting special needs will take care of that for you.

Not the only reason but here are others.

 

We really enjoy the comedy club as we live in a small town and no access to this. Sunshine's club is very small and you must get there real early for adult shows.

 

People tell me the public areas are too crowded.

 

As a result why go on Sunshine when we are very happy with Spirit, Conquest and Dream class?

And I can't believe that some people are crazy negative based on what other people prefer. To me I say to each their own... I personally wouldn't choose a ship based on a fridge or not but I do base a lot on what I feel like doing for that particular vacation.

 

For example our October Cruise on the Sunshine we are using it more of an R&R cruise so we upgraded to a nicer room. You may say to yourself "Aren't all vacations R&R??" why yes.. to a point. Our Cruise in April for my 30th on the Liberty was jam packed with excursions and such that we were always on the go. In October however we are choosing to be much more "Lazy".

 

So to your point.. If people enjoy the comforts of home which include a fridge then awesome more power to you. If you are perfectly happy with a few bud buckets of ice in your room same to you!..

I'm sailing Sunshine because of the fabulous 8-port itinerary. I don't care about refrigerators or comedy clubs or swimming pools. I'm travelling. I want my travel experience to be different from my everyday and home life, not as similar as I can make it. For me, that's the whole point! :D

We all cruise for different reasons. We have been to pretty much all the ports in the Caribbean so cruising these days is more about the ship and what it has to offer us.

Sorry for going on the defensive as well. I am with you on the fact that I choose the Sunshine this time around more so for the ship than rooms or even the itinerary. I like seeing what all the ships have to offer and not to mention I may be 30 but the kid in me loves the damn water slides lol. So I am looking forward to the October cruise there to kind of just chill out on the ship with my Wife and our two good frinds which we have cruised with a ton.

 

BUT to your point.. The one think I almost can't live with out is a Guy's burger.. Would be tough for me to pull the trigger on a ship that didn't have that 2.0 upgrade. :D

It matters to me too I keep Diet Sodas cool in there. Those sodas have helped me shed a lot of weight. And I take meds at night.

 

So I FOUND the cabins that have Fridges. If I have missed any.........someone reading this site can add them

 

ALL Cabins on Deck three have mini fridges. Inside and Category Inside "F" which are inside cabins with a window. In this case they overlook the Promenade Deck and that is the obstruction. Which is minimum. Easy access to the Promenade is nice. Beyond the promenade.....View is totally clear. ALL CAbins on Deck 3 Lobby Deck are NEW and have Fridges

 

ALL Cabins on DECK FIVE PROMENADE DECK..........DECK WITH THE CASINO...........TO THE AFT...........NEW CABINS..........have mini fridges. Most are OUTSIDE. All are new They are True Ocean View and Inside

 

ALL Spa Balconies have Mini fridges

 

SOME inside cabins on Deck Nine have mini fridges. INSIDE CABINS ON DECK 9 SOME are new and thus have the minifridge

Will be going on the Valor in Feb and will miss the guys burgers but on the flip side the old style grill does have the awesome chicken fingers:)
