gypsyroselee Posted July 28, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 28, 2015 Is it of benefit for booking far in advance or closer to sailing date? Cannot find explanation of it anywhere. Maybe I have not been looking in right places.
Towel Critter Posted July 28, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 28, 2015 Booking far in advance has a couple of benefits. One, you can book Early Saver and get price protection. Two, you can pay for your cruise in installments, rather than all at once, or in two or three payments. Booking late has one benefit (that I can think of), pack and go prices, which are sometimes an excellent value.
Rare Honolulu Blue Posted July 29, 2015 #3 Share Posted July 29, 2015 One of the biggest benefits of booking far in advance, IMHO, is that you get the optimal choice of cabins. Some people think some cabins are better than others, for a variety of reasons. When booking close to the sailing date, you can only choose cabins that have not been chosen by others - if you get to choose at all (some rates are "guarantees", which means you can only choose a category - like inside or balcony - and not a specific cabin).
