rakes5 Posted July 29, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 29, 2015 I just received an email that Discover is changing benefits if you paid for your trip with a discover card. If would be for a loss that occurs after Aug 1. It doesn't matter when you paid Here is the message: Your Discover card's built - in benefits are streamlining on August 1, 2015 At Discover, we want you to be happy. That's why periodically review the valuable benefits that are built in to your Discover card. We have decided to retain some benefits - like purchase protection and price protection - and discontinue others. What this means for you: Effective August 1, 2015 Discover card will discontinue the following benefits: 24/7 Travel Assistance, Baggage Delay Insurance, MyConcierge, Travel Delay, Lost Luggage, and Emergency Roadside Assistance. If you have a loss or incident that occurs on or after August 1, 2015, it will not be covered by these benefits. Want to learn more? See all your card's built-in benefits at Discover.com/cardbenefits. Just thought that someone may have thought they had certain coverages, but they no longer do. CruisingChick Posted July 29, 2015 #3 Share Posted July 29, 2015 (edited) Well that stinks. So Discover wants us to be happy but is taking away benefits. Makes perfect sense (NOT). We just booked a cruise on Monday using our Discover Card. Thanks for the notice. Edited July 29, 2015 by CruisingChick

Rare tetleytea Posted July 30, 2015 #5 Share Posted July 30, 2015 You could have put it on another credit card and been covered. Now that's a problem. I'm going to argue breach of contract.
Blue Mudshark Posted July 30, 2015 #6 Share Posted July 30, 2015 Have you read the contract? There's usually something that says they can change the terms when and how they like, and you agree to all such changes in advance.
