O.K. all you savy cruisers. Can anyone tell me the distance from the Cruise Docks to Willemstad's historic downtown district where their seaside cafes and shops are located? What transportation is available, and does anyone remember the cost?

Will be there in October on the Sun Princess.

Thanks for your help and any suggestions.

My family and I were there in March of this year. There were plenty of taxis and vans waiting at the dock to take us into the city. If memory serves (and it doesn't always) they charged $5 a head. As we found out later, it was actually a fairly short walk. My sister, who has a gimpy knee, walked to town and back with no problem.

There are two docks on Curacao. The old pier is very close to the floating bridge and is only a few minutes walk across the bridge to town. The new pier is farther from town, but still walkable if you can do a fair amount of walking and don't mind the heat. Otherwise, there are plenty of taxi's available.
