beachnative Posted August 1, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 1, 2015 Is the Coastal Kitchen for suite guests on the Allure open for lunch on embarkation? You might want to write to the suites concierge. When we were on the Oasis for a B2B there was a selection of food available (buffet style) in the Suites Lounge. They might offer that on the Allure. If so it will be a peaceful venue. When we entered the Suites Lounge after boarding there was a waiter standing by the door offering complimentary champagne.

jamesr3939 Posted August 3, 2015 #6 Share Posted August 3, 2015 (edited) Yes, on the Oasis in March. There was hot food but it was all buffet style. We were only there for a couple of hours until drill. Then we hosted a cocktail party in our cabin. RCCL did an outstanding job of hosting us and the cost was very reasonable. We had a family group of 15 and had tons of food and drinks for two hours during sail away. It was fantastic. RCCL out did themselves on this event. James, With whom and when did you make the arrangements for your sail away party? I assume you contacted the Concierge (or someone) before the cruise, but how did you do this? I would like to know more about what royal does when you host a party in your suite... Would you mind sharing the cost here?
jamesr3939 Posted August 4, 2015 #10 Share Posted August 4, 2015 I started with the concierge, but the department who handles the in suite party was OA_GroupCoordinator02@rccl.com If you send them an Email they will send you the menus and costs. Our price was about $600. They setup and served for two hours and we had left over food. The price is per person per hour with a two hour minimum. We had about the mid-range food selection. There are cheaper and more expensive selections. We did the house brand liquor but one person in the party wanted something special and they went and got a bottle at no extra charge. We were in an OS with 15 family members plus two bartenders and with the rearrangement of a little furniture had a great party. Everybody said it was one of the hits of the cruise. setsail Posted August 4, 2015 #11 Share Posted August 4, 2015 (edited) You can do a party for free/very low cost. Ask everyone to bring 1 of their bottles of wine and you can order what you want from room service We did a small diner party our last cruise, we got every ones selection off of the RS menu for suites, Those that had a bottle of wine brought it or they stopped at a bar and got what they wanted. Our SA volunteered to take care of the room service items and put extra glasses in our cabin. We had 3 full carts of food. Total cost, an extra tip to the SA/RS, but we have done this before and just called RS on our own and told them what we wanted Edited August 4, 2015 by setsail

We were going to have everybody bring on a bottle of champagne and bring it, but figured we would kill all of that, not everybody liked champagne, and it burned up one of your two bottle allotment. Plus our OS wasn't all that close to a bar so running back and forth for drinks would have been a pain. My brother and I split the cost so it wasn't all that bad. After the fact, we both felt it was probably the best bargain of the entire trip.
