Seattle - After Cruise

Recommended Posts

We will be arriving at 7am or so and then do not fly out until the following morning. I have booked a hotel at the airport but wondering the best way to store our luggage. Not sure what our plan will be, will be exploring downtown for the day and maybe have an early dinner before going to the hotel.

Can store at the dock but wondering how busy it will be to get it back and we would have to be back before 330 to pick it up. Should we just go to the hotel we are booked at and then take the light transit back?

Suggestions appreciated!

Consider renting a car for the day (Alamo/National and Enterprise have kiosks at the cruise terminal, then will shuttle you downtown for the car pickup.) Throw your bags in the back. You may have to pay for parking here and there (or just park it for the day for $10-$15 in many lots/garages) and then use it to get to the airport. Or, if you want, use it to explore our fair city and its environs - head to Mukilteo and Whidbey Island, or go see Snoqualmie Falls, even a day trip to Mt. Rainier is easy.

Agree with renting a car. You do not want to have to return to the pier. You may also find a car conveinent if you want to visit common places such as Pike Place Market, the Space Needle and Centurylink Field, home to the awesome Seahawks!!! Enjoy yourself. Seattle is a beautiful and clean city.

What do folks do who are flying out later the same afternoon on the day the cruise gets back to Seattle? We have a 6pm flight and we'll already be in Seattle for 4 days prior to our cruise?

we just got off the Pearl this Sunday, and we had a hotel reservation at the airport (Residence Inn Tukwila - awesome by the way). There were 5 of us, so we took Aces town car service ($61 plus tip for a Suburban - also highly recommended) to the hotel. Checked in early, even though our room wasn't ready. Left all 12 of our big and small bags with them, and they then took us to the light rail station. That way we were back downtown less than 2 hours after getting off the ship with nothing to carry around. Took light rail back. I called the hotel while we were on our way and the shuttle was waiting for us. Very easy. Oh, and they brought all our bags to our room while we were hone. How nice is that?

Some take a tour of the city that picks them up (and their bags) at the pier and then drops them off at SeaTac after the cruise (don't know the time of drop off) along with their bags for their flight home. Some people use EZ Check that takes their bags from the ship to the airport. That only works if their airline participates in the EZ Check program of course. Some check their bags with the concierge at the pier and come back to pick them up.
