$50 upgrade on Miracle: 4D to 6A. Should I do it?

Just got an email this morning to upgrade my inside cabin on Deck 6 to an ocean view on deck one for $50. Is it worth it to move down to deck 1 for a window? Will it be a lot louder and busier on deck 1 as well? Also are cabins suppose to be nicer the higher up you are? Thanks in advance for your replies!

On deck 1 you will have the Promenade (deck 2) above you - theater, casino, lobby, main dining room etc. so noise from above could be an issue. Personally, I think given this choice, I might stay on deck 6 in the inside cabin as you have cabins only in the floors above you and below you.

It depends. What room number do you have now? Which one would you be moving to? How many in your cabin? If more than 2, the oceanview might be worth it just for the sofa and extra space. Personally, I'd much rather have a cabin with a window unless it was in a terrible location. Fortunately, on the Miracle, none of the 6A's are located all the way forward or all the way aft or under the galley.

The rooms are the same "niceness" on any deck (maybe with the exception of the spa rooms). I've never really understood why rooms cost more the higher the deck is...they are pretty much the same. However, I think the real difference is between aft and the other two-thirds of the ship. There can be some gnarly rooms on the aft end (rooms with loud noise and vibration).

On the upside, if you upgrade to an oceanview room, you get more space and a couch. I personally like being on the lower floors because it's close to a lot venues and you don't feel much movement. A bonus plus is that you get a lower zone number for regular debarkation.

I haven't been on the Miracle, but I took a look at the deck plans. You would be under the common areas most likely, so it might be a bit noisier. If you happen to be under Guest Services or the Shore Excursion desk though, it should be quieter. If you're near the lounge you may hear music some nights. I've stayed directly under the main lounge and had to strain to even hear anything, so you will probably be fine.

Personally, I would upgrade to the oceanview for the space/couch and the window unless it's in a bad location (right next to the lounges). But if you're not in the room much, then I suggest using that extra $50-$100 on a fun shore excursion or a few drinks :)

Enjoy your cruise!

I got the same offer this morning but mine was for $60 total. I am in an inside on deck 8 and offer was for an Ocean View on Main Deck.

I turned it down. I like our location just below the lido deck and we are also on a b2b so wanting to keep the same room for both.

Go figure, my first upsell and I turned it done. LOL

Now if it had been a balcony.:D

So I could get cabin 1205 1209 or 1211. Anyone know how the noise is in these cabins? There wasn't any under guest services but these looked the best bet. Thanks for all your help!

OV cabins are larger than the IS on the Miracle. The galley is aft you don't have to worry about having that above you.

This is the key. On average, it's 15 sq ft of additional space. For $50 total, I'd probably take it.

I would take it. Those rooms are conveniently located next to the midship elevators, and if I recall, the area above is just a seating area (sofas, chairs, tables), so I wouldn't expect it to be too noisy.

Thanks so much guys! Really appreciate it! I booked cabin 1216 right under shore excursions. It was available when I called so I did it and I am so excited. Can't wait for January 2 2016

*sniff* the upsell fairy has never visited me [emoji22] I've been on a low deck, and really liked it. It was so nice being close to the gangplank after excursions, and we like to leave the boat early for debarkation, so we didn't fight the elevators as much. Also, I love watching the waves, sunrises/sunsets etc.

We received same type of email this morning to upgrade for $40 total from a regular balcony 8B to a lido balcony. Said no thanks, we booked this room last October for a cruise to Bermuda with the long balcony on the Sunshine. We have 5 seadays to enjoy all that extra space, no way I would give that up. Now why can't they offer an upgrade for my December cruise I might would consider that one. :D

Oh heck no. If you have the long balcony don't move. I had one and it was wonderful.

To the OP, I's a tough decision. Although I think an ocean view is better than interior cabin the location does not seem to be as good. So you're getting a better room, but a worse location. Some may say it's convenient to a lot of things and it has the potential to be, but you have to ask yourself what you want to be closer to and what you use more. Do you want to be closer to the pool and the lido buffets? Because on deck 6 you'll be closer to that. But on deck 1 you'll be closer to the dining room, casino, atrium, etc. It depends on what area of the ship you frequent more often.
