dmdiver Posted August 6, 2015 #26 Share Posted August 6, 2015 We've only done guarantee once. We booked only 3 weeks out & when I logged in to my CCL account the next day a cabin had been assigned. However, it is always possible that you have to wait until you get to port, according to CCL phone rep. So, I would just keep checking your account until you see an assignment. If you don't have one before you leave, you will just have to get tags at the port.

YubaSutter Posted August 8, 2015 #28 Share Posted August 8, 2015 Is this even possible in a post 911 world? Generally reservations must close within a few days of sailing because the roster is sent to homeland security for screening. This is absolutely false. I have called Carnival at 9 am on day of departure several times and was onboard by 2 pm same day. Used to do this a lot when I lived 10 minutes from port and had a few days off from work. Papa_Bear_ Posted August 24, 2015 Author #30 Share Posted August 24, 2015 Cabin was assigned today, Aug 24th, 5 days before sailing. Get a Grand Suite. Let the wife know and she reports doing a happy dance. Hopefully she got off the freeway first.
