Picking up wine/liquor on last day

Has anyone done the new liquor or wine pick up on departure morning?

 

How is this working out?

Is it a mad house?

Can you find your purchases easily? Does it matter if you purchased on board or ashore?

Has anyone done this on Carnival Freedom?

On any Carnival ship?

 

I have a cruise coming up in a few months and was planning to buy a couple of bottles. I know about the tax in Galveston. The $3-something a bottle tax for liquor sort of takes the shine off the deal you get by buying duty-free.
