Rock_ON!! Posted August 10, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 10, 2015 I just booked the FTTF( for the first time ) for a New Years cruise with only one tender port. I figured because it was over the holidays that it might be worth it just to avoid the lines boarding the ship. Did I make the right decision? What other benefits make it worth it? O2Cool Posted August 10, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 10, 2015 I love the priority line and phone number for guest services and getting off the boat early. Being able to drop off carry on luggage as soon as I get on board is also a favorite. To me it is worth it each and every time I can get it. BattyL Posted August 10, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 10, 2015 I will always get FTTF. I think the benefits you get are well worth the cost. Some people may think it's a waste of money, I like being able to board early, having my cabin ready and getting my luggage shortly after boarding and also being able to use the dedicated line at guest services. I just booked my cruise out of New York next August and purchased it already. :D
Carnival Cutie Posted August 10, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 10, 2015 I started purchasing Faster to the Fun as soon as it became available. For me not having to wait for your room to be ready is worth the price. You can get on the ship, drop off whatever you're carrying and travel freely. Having your luggage expedited is another plus, you'll be unpacked while everyone else is still waiting for their luggage. I didn't have many occasions where I needed the special line at Guest Services but it's nice to know it's there if you need it. You have a designated area at debarkation which is another plus. Enjoy your cruise!!!
Troublemaker47 Posted August 10, 2015 #5 Share Posted August 10, 2015 (edited) In mho it's well worth every cent!! Only problem we've ever had was on our last cruise, they used terminal 2 in Galveston for the first time and didn't have our s&s cards ready for us at ck in so about 30 + people had to wait Over 2 hrs in lobby after boarding for guest services to get us our cards( we were guarded by security while waiting. ) everything else went as advertised. sararebekahquinn Posted August 10, 2015 #6 Share Posted August 10, 2015 When we purchased it for our cruise on the Fascination at the beginning of August, I doubted I would use the "front of the line" perk. So many reasons to use it this time and it was so nice. Especially on the last night. My father in law was lucky enough to get chosen for a mandatory immigration check that started at 6:45 am. He saw the letter at 10 pm on the last night, so you can imagine how long the line was, with everyone needing to check their balances. We were very happy to not wait when we were asking questions about it. I tried my best to talk us out of it, but it turns out that there is a wanted criminal with the same name as my father in law. Crazy. All that to say, you never know why you might need to use the perks but we were SO thankful we could.

Yes we are planning another cruise in April 2016 on the Carnival Paradise (we just got off a few wks. ago) and Yes we are getting the FTTF. Would be great for Grand Cayman as it took forever to get off. It is also real nice when you board just to drop everything off in the room. GrannyFlamingo Posted August 10, 2015 #9 Share Posted August 10, 2015 Hmmm FTTF for Jacksonville? Some say yes, some say no. I want to get my vacation started, but I don't want to needlessly waste money. Were not cheap, but we are thrifty. I won't know until closer to the date what are timing may be. I'm guessing that has a lot to do with it?

Ahsndpro Posted August 10, 2015 #11 Share Posted August 10, 2015 Priority embarkation and debarkation is worth it alone, in my opinion.

bcsurvivor05 Posted August 10, 2015 #15 Share Posted August 10, 2015 If our plane is not getting in until 4pm and most people will be on the shop already does it pay to do fttf?
sunlover5 Posted August 10, 2015 #16 Share Posted August 10, 2015 (edited) I have FTTF for our Nov. cruise...I didn't know about priority debarkation being included. Do you go to the desk to request early off the ship or how do you request that? Thank you so much for any info.... Sorry for a silly question, but we have a 11:30 flight from Miami... Thanks again! PortSideCruzan Posted August 10, 2015 #21 Share Posted August 10, 2015 (edited) If our plane is not getting in until 4pm and most people will be on the shop already does it pay to do fttf? Hi Bcsurvivor :) I see in your signature that you are sailing on the Liberty out of Puerto Rico departing at 10pm. Only you can decide if the Faster To The Fun benefits will be beneficial to you during your voyage. I'll drop the benefits below for you. Since you are departing at 10pm & boarding the ship after 4pm due to your plane arrival time, (you can eliminate benefit #2) and (maybe) benefit #3, listed below. However benefit #3 may or could still be beneficial to you. Individual decision. Take a peek at the other five benefits in effort to decide if FTTF would benefit you personally or not. 1) Priority security, check-in and express Boarding 2) Access to your stateroom when you board 3) Express luggage delivery to your stateroom 4) A dedicated (4-digit phone line) & (priority line) at guest services 5) Priority dinner reservations 6) Priority tender (Escorted from guest services to next tender) 7) Debarkation choices (Early) 'OR' (Late) Disembarkation FTTF info located at: https://www.goccl.com/~/media/Files/Irman/bookccl/shipboard_knowledge/FastertotheFunPackage.htm I hope this helps you some, have a great day! :) Edited August 10, 2015 by PortSideCruzan
simplelife Posted August 10, 2015 #22 Share Posted August 10, 2015 I think it depends on your ship, your ports, your activities. We did not have it for our recent cruise on Victory, and I am glad we did not spend the money on it - it would have been a waste for us. No one else was in our party, and we only had 2 ports - neither were tendered and we did not have shore excursions. Embarkation was a breeze for us - we were on the ship before noon and did not mind having our carry-on with us, as we were just sitting on the pool deck enjoying our first drinks. Debarkation was simple as well and we were off the ship by midmorning. Also we paid very little on our short cruise and the FTTF fee would have been a significant expenditure. On a longer cruise and under different circumstances it might have made sense.
bubbles4ever Posted August 10, 2015 #23 Share Posted August 10, 2015 Doesn't bother me...we generally travel with my in laws who are platinum. They just take our carry on to their cabin. As for getting on the ship we usually beat them on
