iceman93 Posted August 10, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 10, 2015 MSC is not a line my family has ever considered, but the status match has us looking at them. One challenge I see is that it seems even the biggest cabins on the ships I've checked are pretty small. My family chooses not to cruise very often, but usually in the biggest cabin on any particular ship (HAL penthouse/pinnacle suites, Disney royal suites, etc.). Is there a ginormous suite somewhere on MSC?
MrJoeBlack Posted August 10, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 10, 2015 You may want to hold off until the new builds arrive, all current Suites are not to the size you are accustomed too
Rare Shippy Posted August 11, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 11, 2015 ...I know, it does NOT have a balcony. My husband is a flooring contractor & says they (the outside, not middle) are about 600 sq.ft Giant bathroom with double sinks & separate large shower & tub. Very large living room with lots of overstuffed furniture. Large bedroom. Big TVs mounted on wall in both living room & bedroom. There are solid doors to close off the bedroom from the living room. Large closet when you first enter cabin & very large walkin closet off bedroom. Separate dressing table area. Floor to ceiling windows in both rooms. The YC3 has a balcony but that square footage comes off the cabin size. Since both these category cabins go across the front of the ship, we found the balcony on the YC3 a bit to windy so prefer the larger cabin of the YC2. Bathroom in the YC3 is half the size & you have to step over into tub to shower. I prefer the YC2 bathroom with the large shower & lots of Jets :O) The view is amazing. Leave your curtains open at night & watch the sunrise from the bed.
riclop Posted August 11, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 11, 2015 Another vote for the YC2, it's awesome.
iceman93 Posted August 11, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted August 11, 2015 YC2 is the Executive/Family Suite, correct? So it is actually larger (usable interior space) than the Royal Suite?
Skier52 Posted August 11, 2015 #6 Share Posted August 11, 2015 THe 2 corner YC2 suites are 570 sq ft ,the middle one is 495 sq ft. the YC 3 (Royal suites) are 387 sq ft with a 172 sq ft balcony Pete
Rare Shippy Posted August 11, 2015 #7 Share Posted August 11, 2015 Remember there are very few of these cabins. We usually book cruises within a couple months of sailing but not with MSC because I want one of those rooms. There are only 3 YC2 and I do NOT want the smaller middle one. Only 2 YC3 cabins. I now book those a year out & even then have to look at a few dates to find availability.
iceman93 Posted August 12, 2015 Author #8 Share Posted August 12, 2015 Do any of the YC2 or YC3 suites connect to each other, so if you booked two you could create a larger single suite?
Rare Shippy Posted August 12, 2015 #9 Share Posted August 12, 2015 Do any of the YC2 or YC3 suites connect to each other, so if you booked two you could create a larger single suite? They are on the either side of the front of the ship with smaller cabins in between. Of the 3 YC2...we get 12001 because it is NOT connecting. The other 2 are. iceman93 Posted August 13, 2015 Author #10 Share Posted August 13, 2015 Thanks so much, Shippy! So maybe (if I'm quick enough to snatch them up) I can book the two connecting YC2s and have something of a mega-suite. Awesome!
stealthy Posted August 13, 2015 #11 Share Posted August 13, 2015 IMO anything that starts with the word "yacht Club" is good. [emoji106] Anthony & Jenny, Melbourne Australia Cruising MSC YC 7th June 2015, Eastern Mediterranean.
