Sorry, but I need a translation!

Ooops. Verizonwireless has a points program. You get points for paying online, purchasing, visiting their website, etc... You can use those points to buy gift certs (which run out fast) at a discounted price. Sometimes, they also have Carnival GC. So I used up 1000pts and $90 to pay for a $100 gc. I'm not sure if there's a limit on how many gc you can buy.

Verizon and AARP offer discounted RCI gift certificates occasionally. They are 10% off face value so you pay $90 for a gift certificate worth $100. They only drawback is they are only good for new bookings, you cannot use them for OBC, shore excursions, or paying off an already booked cruise. There is a lot of fine print, but for new bookings they can save quite a bit on money. No, there is no limit on the number you can use.

The ones for Carnival have more flexibility, you can use them for just about anything.

Verizon has a program called Smart Rewards where customers earn loyalty points for maintain service with them. You can then use those points to enter sweepstakes, bid in "auctions" and get discounts on merchandise and services. Right now, you can use 1,000 rewards points and purchase a $100 RCCL gift card for $90.

Note some of the terms of the offer:

"1. Travel agents, agencies or any other travel intermediary service cannot be used in conjunction with this certificate."

"10. Certificate cannot be applied to existing reservations and can only be used towards a new cruise booking."

"11. This certificate cannot be applied to ship-board credit, excursions, or gratuities."
