czarinahil Posted September 22, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 22, 2005 I realize that this itin. has not begun yet for this year but I was hoping someone who has taken this trip in the past can answer a few questions. (probably having your Patters handy would help!) 1. Which nights are the formal nights? 2. Which nights are the big production shows? 3. Is the champagne tower thing on one of the formal nights? If so which one? 4. Since the ship does not sail until 11 pm do most people leave the ship for the evening? What time is muster drill? Thanks for your help! cherylandtk Posted September 22, 2005 #2 Share Posted September 22, 2005 Hilary, I can answer most: Second night and 6th night are formal. Champagne tower is last formal night. Most people do check in and then leave to visit Old San Juan. Very close, but you need a cab. Streets too busy to walk. Muster drill is at 8pm FYI, the first night dinner is random seating if you have 2nd traditional dining, and right after the drill. You will not meet your table mates until the second night. Sorry I can't help with the production shows, we did not see them. We did go to the comedians and magicians, etc., but skipped the production numbers. caribbean2000 Posted September 24, 2005 #7 Share Posted September 24, 2005 We've done the southern route 4 times on various Princess ships, always had 2nd traditional seating, and always went to our assigned table the first night and met our tablemates. Is this something new? Will be on the Golden again 4/15/06. Gene
cherylandtk Posted September 24, 2005 #8 Share Posted September 24, 2005 Don't know how new it is, but is was that way in June 2004. We had the classic itinerary if that makes any difference. They told us they were doing it this way because the muster drill was at 8, and the late dining was delayed 15 minutes until 8:30 because of the drill, and to get everyone in quickly they were doing open seating rather than take time to show everyone where their assigned table was.
